Roberto Martinez discussion

Yeh Davek can be funny at times.
I'm sure he's chuckling to himself as he types some of the stuff knowing the fume it's going to cause.

I reached a particular low point because of Dave...sat perusing the forum after one of the Chrimbo games, wife away on the couch, quietly doing work stuff, whereupon it seems I'd kinda shouted 'Jesus Christ, Dave K's a f**King bad Pr**K, surely to [Poor language removed] he's taking the p*ss'!!!

TBH I'm not usually prone to such unwitting outbursts like. Wife was a tad startled, kinda goin 'Who the eff's Dave K and why are you getting so wound up?'

The DUDE sure knows how to kick up a fume.

Funny really.

Anyway, how very off topic.

That MARTINEZ, he's a big tit eh...

3-0 against high spending relegation fodder. Game still in balance for most of the night, personally can't read anything to radical into the night apart from useful confidence booster..

Every time he talks I wish we'd have Unsworth or someone care-take to the end of the season. RM's been a failed cup gamble for me. Time to move on.

So we win a game (that yes we should win) comfortably, Martinez does what fans have been wanting him to in dropping Howard and Stones (whether down to injury or not), and yet you want him sacked and replaced by Unsworth... who has no experience of high level management?

Wow. Just wow.

Agree mate, if your answer is t replace him with unsworth need to take your head for a wobble, can see us kicking on now! no point in a new manager if we have a poor 2nd half then yes a replacement in the summer not now!

This is one of the most disturbing things i've read on here for a while. And that takes some doing some days.

Haha, yeah a few comments to the same effect. accept that, of course. far more people on this forum are at GP weekly, and many watch the U21s, too.

but my reasoning is simple ( based on the one assumption which is that the team will continue to misfire under Martinez ):

- We've we've had poor defence, with results declining and reliant on an over used RL
- RM recognises problem by... Buying striker! (cos his signing, Kone, is stop- start)
- Moyes defensive discipline dissipated too, Baines, Coleman and now Stones declining under RM.

We may scrape Europa league, we may nail the cup, I HOPE and WANT Everton to do both, I don't think form or stats say we will.

So, given this assumption:

Tonnes of Everton greats have joined young, moved through U21s and been great for us, from Rooney through to Stones. Therefore we must believe in the u21s, and their manager.

So, why not continue to develop the club's coaches and get shot of Martinez under who the squad is under- performing and declining in league position. It'd sort the defence out, too.

At end of season, failure in cup / league will be unacceptable, RM will have to go. but since both club and top players will also be prey to big offers, we'll then potentially have

A) a tonne of cash for new owners/ manager b) know a lot more about the quality of our men behind the scenes, too.
C) they might turn out to be great :)
D) Martinez has done ok transfer wise, but that's it, everything else has declined, I really do see him as a cup gamble which has eroded the qualities that re established us under Moyes.

This poat single handedly sums up the viewpoint of most of those with some bizarre negativity aowards Martinez.

totally illlogical.

My analogy, and how I feel is simple.

AC/DC.

1st album, raw, brilliant, a bit off in places, but you could see what could happen.

2nd album. Meh. Ace in patches, but mainly meh.

3rd album. Best of 1 and 2, but also the worst of 1 and 2.

4th album. Now, this is looking really good.

6th album. (5th was live doesnt count). Wowzers.

7th album. Win CL.

Go crap after that mind, but still good live.
