Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Management have risked infuriating supporters with a claim on their website about ’transforming fans into customers’.

In the 'portfolio' page of their company website, FSM have used the Merseyside club as an example of how to utilise fans for financial benefit.

It comes amid a significant backlash against the club's new ticket pricing structure that will see the first £1000 season ticket introduced next season.

This is a huge mistake from the owners and even the more dullard aspects of their fanbase know it.

On point one there is going to be now be a growing divide between fans and owners. It will be interesting to see how Klopp plays it, as sooner or later they will want him to be their Rafael figure.

More importantly they are becoming acutely aware they are surrendering the city to us. They are miles behind us in terms of work we do in the community, and even acknowledge that we do far more work in schools getting people along to the match.

Close to 80 quid for a ticket is going to rule out most people with families who want to bring the next generation of fans. As they have been saying to me, for a kid who are they going to choose to support when it comes to the differences in price? Likewise for a mum who has a kid who wants to go to the match, who is she likely to pay for him/her to go with?

It's a particular issue with the issue of Liverpool as a city. Both clubs have benefited enormously from being part of the city. The fact that one team will increasingly resemble an international dumping ground for out of town tourists "customers" brought in for their extra money is going to be really humiliating for them.

Meanwhile with our more longsited vision, £100 season tickets etc we are growing an ever increasing local fanbase. Long may it continue. Soon they will not have any connection with the city, no scousers in the squad and an overwhelming majority of fans from outside the area.

Thought the new tickets prices start at 33 pounds and work up. What stand is 77 quid?

The new part of the Main Stand I think.

They can't just keeping fleecing rich Oriental students and expect them to keep paying no matter what.

Laughing at this, town on an LFC matchday is full of sixteen year old Chinese girls in red scarves. I'm sure they will keep coming though!

Looks like they are organising a walkout in the 77th minute of their home game against Sunderland this weekend in protest against the increase in ticket prices.

Which is awkward because that's about the time their fans start leaving anyway.
Bit nippy to leave the pub or armchair I suppose they could remove the batteries out the remote in protest

According to my RS mate they were never in for Teixeria, because if they were in for him he would now be a RS player.

Ended up putting the phone down on him, that's the one thing that always sticks out, everytime we start talking about footy, it always ends up with me just putting the phone down on him because of the crap he comes out with.

I don't even engage in footy talk with my RS mates, it always leaves me questioning why I'm even mates with them in the end.
