I'm genuinely curious whether there was another 'mystery' signing or not. Regardless, Naismith out for good money and McGeady out (albeit temporary) with two very highly rated utes and a 'boom or bust' player from Russia? Positive.

On a concerning note, nothing was really brought in to help the defensive side of the team. I'm hoping the new player can add balance and maybe that would be the issue? Long shot, I know..

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the posters here who don't agree are over 50 yrs old and wouldn't know an Xbox from a car battery :-)

Two players out, one for a good fee, and both likely on decent wages (can assume since both came in on frees).

Big signing looks like an improvement on those out (TBC), although there's a lot of competition up front, so someone's likely to be unhappy by the end of the season.

A couple of good prospects in for next season and beyond.

Hey, we spent actual money on players, which is more than most expected.

Just a pity it was Yarmalenk-off.

Roberto had a dream
To build a football team
He spunked some money and still the kipperheads werent happy
With Omar upfront and Rom at Lefttttttttttttttttttt back
The School of transfers is on its way back

Naismith £8.5mil
McGeady loan
McAleny loan

If the last two were permanent and Howard also was punted then other than Kone (whose contrsct is up next season) we'd have got rid of all of our deadwood with the remainder out of contract in the summer.

Thats a step in the right direction...

Tarashaj seems good and will compete with Barkley + Niasse takes the Kone role -- decent money and Martinez can spot a player so big expectations there. If he cant fill that role then he will compete with Lukaku who has zero cover.

Pretty good on paper.
