Martinez to seek meeting with ref bosses

how do you know what Bobby says in the Dressing Room?

Just because he fobs the cameras of with sweetness and light doesn't mean he's like that with the players.
He'd not have survived as a professional manager if he didn't let rip when it was needed.

The fact that players repeat their errors makes me think the players have no fear of him. No fear of failure certainly anyway.

Maybe so, all ifs and buts.
I think I'm just really disappointed as I thought Martinez could be the man to take us to that next level, sadly doesn't look that way, regardless of bad decisions or not.
We're never gonna know. Just like we'll never know if we would have gone onto beat Liverpool in the first Mersey cup final if Hansen's blatant handball was given.
To be honest I don't really believe many managers do much more than offer stability. We put far too much emphasis on them

when were we a consistent top 6 side ?
it is clear that you have an axe to grind with Martinez - but that is another story -
in this thread we ask whether Everton and other lesser clubs gets treated evenhandedly and whether we have a case to complain about
we have never used the word conspiracy - you and others have - we are just proving with statistics that the playing field is not level -
like the M United Derby game tonight where the clearly wrong decision went against ?........... Derby
How many times have we won the derby with a blatantly wrong decision going our way ? ........ 0
i will not insult you if you honestly believe that all sides get equal treatment from officials - i will just feel sorry for you

Number of penalties at a field in the last seventy years .........0. Not one Liverpool player has fouled an Everton player in the box for 70 years. Seems reasonable!

CBA to read the whole of this thread, but I am mystified as to why Martinez is doing this and what he hopes to get out of it.
The fans of every PL team think there is a referees conspiracy against their team and has the stats to show that this is true. See RAWK, Red Café and Blue Moon amongst others for numerous examples.
Roberto really should have other priorities - this looks like an under-pressure manager flailing around desperately to distract us from a second season of failure.

i have never said bad decisions is the only reason why we are in a bad position -
but the fact that we are in the bottom half of the table also does not mean we have not suffered some rediculously poor decisions this season -
Jreverton1 are you happy with the wrong decisions for and against us ?
Should anything be done about it or is it just fine and part of the game get robbed with a clear off side goal?

Do things even up? It's far more complicated than just looking at incidents .For instance would you expect a team with say 40% possession average to be fouled as much as a team with say 50% or a team that only has say an average of say20 touches in the opposition box to get as many contact penalties as a team that averages 40.

Of course you can look at incidents and say it was wrong but other than ball over line every other decision is based on the referees opinion and yes replays will show some decisions based on judgement are wrong but that's where we are

Everton are fast getting drawn into a relegation battle. At the moment it's nothing that a couple of league wins won't put right but it's the lack of ability to see out games or improve defending that must be of a concern but keeping Lukaku suffering any sort of injury is a real worry and surely the overall team performance should be the focus as opposed to playing the victim card

Martinez is too soft with his players and they make awful mistakes. The same applies to referees.

But the simple solution is replays and only reason we havent got them is corruption. I watch a lot of rugby and one of most enjoyable parts of the match going experience is the ref decisions coming up on the big screen.

Its dark ages stuff.

And also hearing the ref explaining his decisions to players-that would do away with all that arrogant BS some of the ref's come out with when players question the big calls.

Don't believe this will get us anywhere. It's all happened before (Clattenburg derby, Man City players dishing out kung-fu kicks without getting red cards, etc.) and it will happen again....until we get taken over by a billionaire and are afforded the same "privileges"...
