Tim Howard

A goalkeeper comes running out looks at 2 players bearing down on him and completely swerves it, they don't call him Tim Coward for nothing.

So what do you want him to do?

Go flying into them the way Harold Schumacher did on Patrick Battiston?

Maybe in the process injure both himself and Jags?

people saying howard isn't at any fault for the first goal, is laughable.. completely laughable.

First of all, jags should have headed it, initially but he didn't.

But the fact is, if howard doesn't come rushing out like a lunatic, and like a goalkeeper in his first premier league game, Jagielka simply clears it out the way.

Fact is, Howard runs out like a moron, misses the player, and the ball, and puts jagielka off completely.

Second of all, as a keeper and 'a keeper with great experience' as martinez calls him, he should know that if the defenders don't get to it, he HAS to make costa make a choice, at least give him something to be hard about. Simply running out of his area and giving costa no choice at all, giving him a free empty goal is completely laughable.

He's absolutely awful, and his 'great game' against city, nearly every shot was right at him.

I am no Howard fan, but that first goal, for me was initially Jagielka's fault, he should have known better. In the end they must take equal blame for the collision where they both lost out to clever Costa play.

If Howard made a kicking error and it went to Stones on edge of area and he was under pressure and instead of kicking it out lost the ball being clever, Howard would get the blame 100% on here.

The sooner we buy a proper goalkeeper to replace Howard the better, as Robles isn't the answer either.

ooo errrr misses !!

The long ball was also just outside of Howard's area. I think he though he could come claim it and then realized it was just outside the box.

Sort of a horror moment/brain fart that all involved are to blame for.

It could have easily resulted in a red card if he'd slid in and maybe even a penalty given how clueless the linesman proved himself.

Goalkeepers, have feet.

This mate, he got caught in no-man's land. Either he comes out and deals with it earlier or he stays back to deal with the shot. He did neither and he's as much as fault as Jags.
