Tim Howard

Think a fully match fit Jags would have usually dealt with Fabregas' ball over the top, but ultimately Howard could see the play developing, the ball was in the air a long time and (i) he did not react quickly enough and (ii) have the physical presence to deny Costa so I'm afraid it has to go down to him.

Seen him make that mistake before, so I'm not so sure.

They were both to blame for the first tbh. Jags handled it horribly then tim came out and got nothing on it which was also terrible play. the 2nd was a crap deflection and the 3rd well documented

Tim didn't cover himself with glory for the first goal but he is not the principal villain IMO.

That said, I am not comfortable pinning blame on our guys when the simple truth is the referee robed us of the points in the end.

Yup that last bit was the point I was trying to make but terribly haha there wasn't much more our guys could've done about their 2nd and 3rd

The point about yesterday's first goal was that the ball played by Fabregas was in the air a long time, secondly Howard could see the whole play develop in front of him and thirdly if you are going to come off your line you have to make sure you will be first to the ball, otherwise you hold your position around the six yard line and narrow the angle if the attacker gets ahead of the defender.

Pretty basic goalkeeping. Poor judgement and execution yesterday.

100% correct.

Could have stayed on his line - didn't.

Chose to come for the ball - I thought this was the right decision, he was still favourite for it..... just chose to run completely past it towards a burger bar which suggests either a visual defect, lunacy, or cowardice.

Get shut Coco.

Will say he made a few good saves yesterday. I think the two goals were team fault goals rather than just down to Tim Howard. The third wasn't the teams fault. Apart from maybe over celebration for our third. But I do agree we need a new keeper.
