Most fans know he is the worst keeper in the leagueI love when Howard gets criticized for not saving a shot that hits the woodwork. Really sums up the attitude of Everton fans towards him.

lollol Spot on!No youre a bit confused there. People do want him to come out for crosses and where appropriate punch them..once..and with precision and purpose. Not like a pi*sed up kamikaze Norman Wisdom.
Fair enough about the first line I guess.
We do dally about with it a bit more, but so do Spurs. And that's a situation where you'd think a youth team keeper would come and sweep up the ball, let alone an experienced international GK who's been at several world cups.
And the situation I talked about, the ball was in the air for about a minute, T-HoW could've moved, had plenty of time, Stones even anticipated it by letting it drop behind him, yet no movement whatsoever. How is this not some kind of trust issue?

So when he gets beaten and it hits the post, it is because he had a premonition of exactly where it would go and had covered the goal completely.I love when Howard gets criticized for not saving a shot that hits the woodwork. Really sums up the attitude of Everton fans towards him.
He got beaten twice from outside the box (both luckily hit the woodwork), once inside which wasn't too far away from him, flapped at a cross as he normally does and - still - can't kick a ball.
I see your point, but it's not a new thing, he's done that kind of thing for a while now, the difference is that defenders usually have the time to clear it into the stands when he doesn't do it, whereas Stones had someone on his back instantly.I remember the one you mean and yes that was a bit of an awkward incident but did show some signs of hesitation and lack of confidence which is kind of understandable when you have 40,000 on your back and concede for fun!
More reason to rest him for the rest of the season then?looking on twitter earlier loads were surprised at the amount of
abuse he got.

It was Lucky you can not rely on regulation catches or punches by a Keeper, who is poor on crosses! But both of those resulted in Everton gaining possession.
I swear, you all care more about Howard looks when he plays than how he actually performs.
Agreed.but he still played about with it did Stones even when howard wasn't within passing distance, 2nd half down by the spurs fans and park end. Either way it's more the back 5 than just Howard that needs continued work on, not that we don't need a new keeper when possible.
Tbf, if I was a Spurs fan or was worried about it, I would have thought he might have done a bit better. But it was also inside the box so less time to react.Bet you don't blame Lloris for the Lennon goal...
Stones was giving it back to the fans behind the goal, not Tim.
Spot on stones was looking at Tim and he was static as usual!Agreed.
For that situation though - as a CB you DON'T pass to a GK who is on his line - you wait for him to be at least slightly to the side. The goalie has to move to the side, as slip ups regularly happen and that's an own goal for no reason whatsoever. It's something both "positions" are taught when they're about 14 (and every goalkeeper/defender should do unless it's virtually impossible/ball is knocked back from a tackle and so on), so I have no idea why he didn't do it now - he could've at least moved to his right and booted the ball away, like...
