Robles was De Gea's backup for a while, but as soon as De Gea left Atlético they signed Courtois to replace him. Robles was never expected to replace De Gea.

How do you know?? He needs to be given a chance.. A sub goalie is there to replace the starting goalie when he isn't perfoming and Howard hasn't performed well for ages!

Three consecutive clean sheets in the league vs WBA, Crystal Palace and Liverpool last season. Was then dropped as soon as out of form Howard was fit again.
Clean sheet vs top of the Championship Middlesbrough in the last round of the league cup this season.
Saved a penalty in the shoot out win over Norwich in the cup this season.
Tim Howard is awful, an arrogant liability who is now past his best and not good enough for Everton.
Robles deserves a run in the team to fully show what he can do. Not just cup games, where he does well. Not just a few league games. A good run, for several months, in all competitions.
If you think Howard is any good and shouldn't be replaced, you're in a tiny, tiny minority of Evertonians.
