Roberto Martinez discussion

It's only right that he is held partly accountable for poor results isn't it? His position must seriously come under scrutiny.

Unless you are a complete blimp with an agenda and have backed yourself into a corner with your undying love for him of course! :coffee:
Is he being held to account on how he's coached a team that's gotten 35 goals playing great attacking football?

Maybe 'one of the directors' can advise him on how to score more?

Lol.

Bankrupt.

We never hear from you until there's a real defeat or a 1-1 defeat.

Lol.

Hopefully you go back in the box again after Sunday's game.
Could you prove your latest lie please or do you want me to make you look stupid, lad?

It will be very easily done with self vaulting from Saturday night and the victory that came before that in mid November.

Stop lying, for all our disagreements I never stopped complimenting you on the quality of you post'....but the last few weeks all you do is lie or exaggerate what I say and NOW^^ Do, to prove some weird point.

Like I say prove that I don't post after victories or its gonna look like yet another lie. Unfortunately.

Great, you have highlighted a positive.

Now shall we list the negatives? Or will that totally overwhelm and destroy your point?...yep, thought so.

Howard is a problem no doubt, Martinez is stuck in a position now created by himself I may add. If he drops Tim now it means he is made a scapegoat, if he continues with him and he continues to make errors then his position is made unteniable.

Managers need to be ruthless and adapt to change. Martinez is proving so far he is incapable of both.

Great attacking football means nothing if you can't also defend

As exciting as we are to watch, as Evertonians we should want the club to win games. We're miles away from being a force in the game because of our poor defending, and I'm afraid that's down to Martinez. We have good defenders. Not amazing ones but ones who are capable of not conceding so many goals. I'm sorry, but it's the tactics at fault here and Martinez seems unwilling to change them

I'd happily sacrifice some attacking excitement in exchange for defensive stability

If Lukaku gets injured, we're going to be in a lot of danger. He's keeping us even remotely close to competitive at the moment. Without him, I shudder to think what would happen

Martinez should be doing what is best for Everton's results regardless of how it makes him look. Look at Pochettino dropping Mason and Bentaleb for Alli and Dier, dropping Soldado for academy prospect Kane, Ranieri leaving Inler and Kramaric on the bench to keep Vardy and drink water in the team. Tough initially unpopular decisions for the good of the team. Martinez hides behind his unshakeable philosophy and big name undroppable players like Howard McCarthy Barry. He seems unwilling or unable to make the necessary changes to improve our results.

The top 4 sides as it stands have scored an identical amount of goals to us, however their defense is almost 10 goals tighter than ours. That is the problem that needs addressing and has done for the last 18 months
