Roberto Martinez discussion

I find it sad the way our expectations have decreased since Moyes left. Moyes used to be vilified for finishing 7th, and was accused of bottling games when he lost cup finals against the most expensively assembled side in history. Whereas Martinez's midtable finishes are described as progress, despite him having the best side since the 80's at his disposal.

yes but he assembled this side that is under performing -what are you insinuating?

You've been saying this for about a solid year and not very much has changed position-wise. I get he's going nowhere, but he's not replacing Howard, he keeps thinking Kone will 'turn it around' instead of this is what he is and he ignores the just a little bit important part of the game called 'defending'. You're not the least bit worried by any of this?
Not in the slightest.

Anyone who cant see progress in this team needs their head feeling.

Ok I have for about 30 secs and without them changing managers - will not be top 4. Thing is they probably will change the manager

3 points of the top 6, which is where we should probably finishing.

That's achievable. The current situation really isn't that bad.

We were much worse under Moyes at time and people weren't calling for his head

Always a knee jerk reaction after defeats but fully understandable in this instance. Can't legislate for the penalty decision, but in fairness to Clattenburg first time I saw it I said penalty also.

Things that he can be held accountable for are:

Tim Howard
Garth Barry 2 games in 2 days. Was excellent for 65mins today but legs went, Gibson and Besic sitting on the bench.
Kone getting a full 90 with Mirallas sitting on bench.
Naismith being brought on ahead of Besic,Gibson,Mirallas.Lennon.
Game management, when we went 3-2 up Seamus Coleman crossed a ball from the by line and Galloway collected on the other side. I'm all for full backs attacking but ridiculous really giving the way the game was going.

I like the man but really don't think he can bring us to the next level, hope I'm proved wrong.

But it soes. It means the manger is here until he desires the job no longer.

We're on the cusp of a very good side here. The GK frigs off and we get a decent replacement we are sorted. However, you dont want that, you just want the manager's blood.

That's about the size of it.
We could get rid of the GK, but your God refuses to. Who's decision is it who plays in goal?

I know that you don't like the board, so having their approval surely means nothing?

I want a manager who is underperforming to be sacked.

They'll only go if we dont have Martinez. They buy into this manager and will be gone in an instant if he leaves....which thankfully isn't happening., so everything's good. You know the drill mate: next game and a win and the moaners disappear.

Spurs, City, Chelsea, Swansea....

See you in Feb then.

How much have those two played? Half the teams we play could play Osman. One one of them still has Gosling in it.

Its a top team mate, easily top half, European quality. Deulofeu, Barkley and Lukaku is an awesome front line, the rest of the team we field just needs to be average for us to have a better team out than most.

Definitely a top half team. Not downplaying what we have, I don't think we're Champions League material like some expect.

He deserves a lot of credit for bringing in those that he did, but he seriously needs to up his game to keep them.
