Roberto Martinez discussion

The best scenario for us right now is getting a successful takeover with money provided to Martinez to fix the few remaining issues in the team in order to compete. The young players would be the investment, and their manager staying and be more likely to stay themselves.

Ripping the whole thing up only gives us more chance of it all unraveling.

Some poor defending today but it getting bummed by Clattenburg at the end that's making some of you biffs so angry.

No its conceding 4 to Stoke that winds me up so much.

I don't advocate restarting, or changing manager, but he had Distin, Jags, Stones, Baines and Coleman and game by game has been making them all worse at defending since he arrived. Clattenburg gifting Stoke something was a given, why is he allowed in Goodison outside a public stoning I have no idea, but that defeat was down to our players and our tactical setup.

Stand off.. stand off.. wait for it.. wait for it.. wait for the perfect tackling moment.. hold.. hold!!!... they scored.. not yet.. wait for it.. they have set the ball for kick off again.. wait for it... Lukaku is on the attack.. okay spring the trap.. make the tackle.

Yes.

Lukaku will be gone, so there's 20 goals a season.

Stones will be up for grabs with City, United, and Chelsea all going in for him.

Barkley could stay as I think his price tag would be too high for what he delivers. And Del will be here another season.

But this squad is all in the shop window as we're not performing on the pitch.

Top 4 hasn't been as open as this for a decade. Players like Lukaku with his agent, will see this, see that it's no fault of their player, and get them out the club.

Thats a fact.
No, it's a belief. They're very different to facts.

Thought I was attending a professional Premier League football game today, but it soon became apparent I stumbled on a pre- season Anfield and District U12 game. Lots of screaming from the sidelines and a manager without a scooby

I find it sad the way our expectations have decreased since Moyes left. Moyes used to be vilified for finishing 7th, and was accused of bottling games when he lost cup finals against the most expensively assembled side in history. Whereas Martinez's midtable finishes are described as progress, despite him having the best side since the 80's at his disposal.

I enjoyed winning games more. Would easily trade 4 goals a game for 1-0 wins.

As has been said this morning, we didn't really win more games than we have done this year though, history seems to be getting rewritten.

Only once in the last 5 years under the previous manager did we had more points then we did on Xmas day & once at the most we were in a semi final also.

We defended well two days ago.

It Isnt like we dont know how...or that we would have crap defenders. ..it's this ridiculous inconsistency and it is cause of some thing else that ihan cannot understand

Because the shape was held.

We go 3.2 up we had -

Naismith, Barkley, Lukaku, Kone, Del.

We lose 4.3 we had -

Naismith, Barkley, Lukaku, Kone, Del.

Utter mess.

I don't think some players especially lukaku will be with us for too much longer. We needed to get there this season and it doesn't look good on that front. We missed a great opportunity . How can supposedly top defenders consistently mess up .How can he back playing the worst keeper in the league. How can he back his decision to play kone who hasn't played well in 6 matches. How could he not see bringing besic on instead on kone when we went up was not the right call. Cannot understand these decisions or lack of. He's not learning from his previous mistakes. He won't last. Unfortunately

All of our best players go to bigger teams, don't know why anyone is surprised by this.

People saying who is out there did people know who Pochettino was before he turned up at Southampton? Or Flores at Watford?

You had managers like Tuchel before going to dortmund, Koeman at Southampton hell even Pardew and Hughes are doing better jobs with lesser sides. We have seen in 18 months the leaky defence hasn't changed, something that was the case throughout his time at Wigan.

It's just inexcusable, going into the stats of no back to back wins in months, the amount conceded and the 3 wins in 12 against the 3 bottom clubs. Anyone who can't see we have a manager who is a lovely bloke but can't organise a defence is living in the clouds. Baines, coleman, jags and Howard all have been solid down the years and look average, you have £50 million pound man Stones and Mori, add in 2 holding midfielders yet we still concede over 1.5 goals per game. I'm really losing interest again this season and it's down to frustration of having a boss side criminally underachieving which is down to poor management.

Call me a moaner etc I couldn't call less I'll just sit back smugly when the same people open their eyes come may when we finish 11th again.

LOL he was one i said i'd like before we appointed Martinez :(
