Not with this manager my friendThere's definitely something to be said for team cohesion and playing for eachother, something Leicester are doing right now. There's a spine about them. We'll get there.

But at some point, the defense has to improve if he wants a long term future here don't you think? For a club of our stature, we should be "near the top" as you say, but 11th is becoming increasingly unacceptable. Its not saying 'HE NEEDS TO GO NOW', but we are SERIOUSLY underperforming. We have the top scorer in the Premier League. We have scored the second most goals overall. And we are 11th. I get people thinking there is a lot of kneejerking, but you cannot look at that and have confidence here. If we had a semblance of a defense, we would comfortably be near the top.
You conveniently missed the word "young" from @davek's statement.
That means they will get better. They need time to do that though.
Time is not something many of you are seemingly prepared to give, instead wanting to vote Martinez out because their XFactor tits.
Then what? Get a new manager. Give our best young players agents the go ahead to agitate for a move. Get new manager to shuffle everything. Start all over again.
Rinse and repeat. Worked for Villa, Newcastle, Spurs and the other clubs similar to us though hasn't it?

Martinez continued: “Overall we showed an incredible reaction to come back and get in front but at 3-2 we should have managed the game a lot better.
“It is the hardest thing to do, to get back on level terms, then get ahead. It was a real blow to lose the third goal but clearly we have to become stronger defensively.
“There are certain actions we have to defend a lot better and, as a team, we have to get more mature. We have to be wiser in protecting that lead.”
Well work on it and fix it then!!!
"We've had an incredible eight years in the Premier League and we have to take the good things from last few years, and there are many. We'll bounce back as we always do at Wigan.
Martinez, who signed the player from former club Swansea in 2009, said: "Jordi divides opinions because he represents a style of football.
"It is not just the way he is as a footballer, it is the style he represents.
"I was disappointed on Saturday, a little sector of the crowd couldn't wait until the final whistle to look back on his performance and then assess it.
"I was so proud of the manner Jordi reacted to whatever was going on. He showed an incredible mental strength.
By that rationale Steve Bruce is a better manager than Martinez too?
Bruce hasn't managed a side to top 10 finishes, so he's not a valid manager to use.
End of the day, if Stoke finish above us again, and get to a cup final with a less spend than Martinez, he'll have done a better job. I don't rate him, but he's certianly doing better than Martinez is the last two seasons

You're happy when there is a fume? You do realise what causes fumes
The best scenario for us right now is getting a successful takeover with money provided to Martinez to fix the few remaining issues in the team in order to compete. The young players would be the investment, and their manager staying and be more likely to stay themselves. The players will get better over time, but at what club? Us or another will depend as much on what we do now as in a few years time when they are fully developed.
Be nice to see the players step up themselves too though, they're not robots, they need to take charge out there, we are lacking leadership on the field. I think they let Martinez down too often.

The way we play at home is suicidal. We've only won 3 games so far. One against a crap Chelsea who every one was beating, one against Sunderland and one against villa. The last two were against the two worst teams in the league by a mile so we got away with it with the way we set up. Sunderland had alot of chances and had they had a couple of decent players could have scored a few more. Villa are just crap. Any other team coming to Goodison stands a good chance of winning in my eyes. I'm not confident of winning home games anymore.
I love how we attack. Barkley and Lukaku are just superb and our best players by far. But defending like we do just cant go on.
