Roberto Martinez discussion

Be nice to see the players step up themselves too though, they're not robots, they need to take charge out there, we are lacking leadership on the field. I think they let Martinez down too often.
But they still keep getting picked mate.
No sane manager would pick howard and after our circus defending any sane manager would sort the problem.
We are weak from the chairman down and some players know it

Bruce hasn't managed a side to top 10 finishes, so he's not a valid manager to use.

End of the day, if Stoke finish above us again, and get to a cup final with a less spend than Martinez, he'll have done a better job. I don't rate him, but he's certianly doing better than Martinez is the last two seasons

Bruce finished 10th with Sunderland, I'm pretty sure.

You and elong clearly know nothing at all about steve bruce and it's getting to me.

I bet you don't even remember his time as a crime novellist.

Think that it's time to look elsewhere. He's been underachieving for 18 months solid now and being 10th in the league with this team, with a striker that scores every week simply isn't good enough.

He doesn't learn from his mistakes, he doesn't have a clue on how to organise a defence, his substitutions are baffling, he has his favourites just like Moyes did etc.

Let's face it at any other club that we would like to consider our rivals he would have been sacked a long time ago.

Don't reckon it's as talented as people make out in all honesty. We have world class, genuine world class, in Stones, Lukaku, Del, Baines. Some of the others I think we overrate as Evertonians a bit, especially McCarthy and Coleman, and Barry is no spring chicken anymore. Cleverly and Kone are some of our starting players. Is it really that good as we make out? Not sure.
You name 4 genuinely world class players followed by Cleverly, Coleman, McCarthy.. Regardless of the rest of the quality of which there is plenty, that is more than most teams could hope to get close to having.

Just saw the goals. First one Stones is way out of position chasing someone into midfield, when there are players there. Second a ball over the top and Shaqiri scores a cracker - maybe Galloway could have been closer. Third, very poor palm out by Howard but Stoke player not marked and the last Stones should have stayed on his feet. If the manager was to be reactive to what I saw, Stones and Howard should be dropped. You can work on formation and defending as much as you want but basic mistakes are down to the players.

The club currently reminds me of Newcastle under Kevin Keegan. No real inclination to win points etc but their football was a rollercoaster of excitement as winning leads were gained then lost etc.

They were called "The Entertainers" and it was thrilling to watch those games where Liverpool, Man u etc beat them in close games late on etc. The nation's favourite second team according to the media as much as we enjoyed laughing at their defeats on Sky etc.

I think our fanbase should learn from their magnificent supporters and rally behind our own young manager like the Geordies did.

How dare you, we're 11th.

We defended well two days ago.

It Isnt like we dont know how...or that we would have crap defenders. ..it's this ridiculous inconsistency and it is cause of some thing else that ihan cannot understand
