Roberto Martinez discussion

We have been doing this sort of crap forever. But apparently it is Martinez' fault.

If you want consistency you are following the wrong club.
No mate, we have been 4th to 8th for most of a decade.. we just finished 11th and don't look odds on to do much better this season, today we lost 4-3 to stoke and have conceded 18 in 10 games.. This is not normal for us, this is not an historical pattern, this is a new level of poor at the back, combined with a new level of quality up front as our CF is now the highest scorer in the league.

This is exactly what everyone that saw a team Martinez managed before Everton, told everyone that hadn't seen a team Martinez had managed before us would happen. We would attack well but defend abysmally..

The only thing doing this sort of crap forever is our manager. So yeah its his fault.

We've never been as good as we should be for nearly thirty years. Yet Moyes got eleven of them.

Martinez tries to bridge the gap with a young squad who will develop, the only sustainable way of doing it.

Will he get time though? Not with these teds wanting him gone half way through the season.
We are going backwards though mate.
We have got serious problems at the back and he just seem to close his eyes and hope it goes away.
Picking howard is beyond a joke and we cannot hold on to a lead.

The fact is you see managers like Pochettino and Flores come into English football and do well with sides atleast on par as us or even below. I'm at the stage like with the ownership issue where I want to twist rather than stick, finishing 10th/11th isn't enjoyable for me nor is it acceptable with this current side. This season with Lukaku firing on all cylinders should be a season of excitement and hope, something we haven't been blessed with down the years with poor strikers like bent, Beckford, jelavic, anichebe, beattie etc. Instead it's a season of utter frustration and I'm frankly tired of it. His first season gave him a pass from last year but he can't have excuses for this one.

Forget the fans, he isn't going to get time with the players.

Do you genuinely believe Lukaku will stay if we continue on like this? Stones? Deulofeu? Maybe Barkley will be different but these guys aren't going to be happy with what's happening week in, week out.

What is frustrating is that Martinez is responsible for ALL of these players making a difference on the field.

For every bit of beautiful flair we have up front we have a dismal defensive back line.

Remember pretty much all of the players below are a direct result of Martinez OR their playing time increased with his management:
Barry
McCarthy
Cleverly
Lukaku
Deulofeu
Stones
Galloway
Funes Moril
Barkley
Kone

So basically he is brilliant when it comes to finding and acquiring talent but not good managing it.

Performance's of our attacking player's suggests otherwise.

I think the issue is simply his blinding loyalty to Howard and lack of defensive organisation.

We're the shiz going forward but suss at the back. It's my opinion and if you have an issue with it you may as well actually respond instead of throwing down a witty meme response hun
But you did think it was witty.

I'm not getting into it with you as you'll start writing in capitals.

End of the day, you can say he's rebuilt the squad.

But what's the point when said squad is going to be minus its best players come next season? All because Martinez fails to manage games, or invests in players who can manage games.
