Yep I would think he would need a breather against Stoke and maybe Cleverley whose played a lot of togger since his injury.

I think not playing midweek football ie europa league has helped keep him fresh.

He has been my player of the season so far.

Barry starts off lots of our moves from the back and makes us tick. There's a lot of talk in here about his poor form last year being down to the Europa League, and there's some truth in that, but there's one glaring difference between this season and last season which no-one seems to comment on.

This season Barry has players moving in front of him which give him more options.Last season he had a load of statues in front of him so had zero options.

Ideally would prefer to rest Barry against Spurs, one of his poorer performances this season was against them especially when Cleverley went off. Pochettino seems to target him with high energy pressing which gives him little time on the ball to direct play and he struggles to keep pace with them when defending.
