He's the unsung hero of our squad. Looking these heatmaps of the game theres only possible conclusion to be made... Barry is everywhere. Im genuinely baffled if theres still evertonians who cant see his worth.

Agreed, he's a rolls royce. I'm sure Andrea Pirlo would love to explain to the minority that pace is not a prerequisite in deep midfield

He is having a great season, reads the game brilliantly and I hope we van get another season out of him, but surely he will need resting at some point, he's older than Pat Jennings.

Barry starts off lots of our moves from the back and makes us tick. There's a lot of talk in here about his poor form last year being down to the Europa League, and there's some truth in that, but there's one glaring difference between this season and last season which no-one seems to comment on.

This season Barry has players moving in front of him which give him more options.Last season he had a load of statues in front of him so had zero options.

If it wasn't for Lukaku going goal crazy I think Barry would be favorite for half a season player of the year. I just made up a new award there.

Half a season player of the year. He is so important to the way this team play links defence to attack brilliantly. Definitely due a rest perhaps tomorrow's game might be too much for him. I'd like Besic to get a run out and rest Barry for Spurs.

Ideally would prefer to rest Barry against Spurs, one of his poorer performances this season was against them especially when Cleverley went off. Pochettino seems to target him with high energy pressing which gives him little time on the ball to direct play and he struggles to keep pace with them when defending.
