It's 9th in the league. Pretty much on par with Joe Hart. It's not good enough, but it's not as bad as you're trying to make it.
I'm not trying to make it good or bad, it just seems bad to me. Surprised it's in the middle of the league, I would have though keepers generally conceded less often than 1 in 3 or 4 shots on their goal but I guess it's pretty common.

This is exactly it.

Stats may not show what people's eyes really should all see.
Stats tell us what our eyes can't see, though -- mainly how all of the other goalkeepers (who we don't get to see other than some highlights on MOTD and the occasional full match) compare. Howard has certainly looked bad quite often this season. The thing is, though, the statistics tell us that most of the other goalkeepers in the league have been just as bad.

There's defo some truth there. It's not just our keeper doing mental things, this season especially.

But, there's always a but, I don't really care how other keepers are doing. I care how ours is.

Sure, we all do. We all want a better keeper. The thing is, though, that's a lot harder to get than most people think.

He was asked by Dixon in the 11th minute 'in a game 10 minutes in are you wanting to have made a save by now? To get your eye in?' To which he replied 'you're still warming up at that point and organising your defence whilst reading the game'
