Came off his line and commanded his area. And what did he do whilst you were watching him to bring you to this conclusion?
Doug is lost when it comes to keepers

Beats me.Why does Martinez keep picking him then? He's had five transfer windows to get a new one. I am fairly certain he will pass up a 6th as well.
He's lost when it comes to football.Came off his line and commanded his area.

So you're saying he's Tony Hibbert? Because I will. He's solid defensively and very very limited attacking wise.Galloway: you're forgetting how well he tracks back and competes physically with the opposition. He's definitely a better defender than Baines (which isn't a great claim like given how ropey Baines has always been defending his own box and positionally all told).
Pienaar: staggered at that comment mate. He was always in close proximity to Baines and if it broke down higher up the pitch he was there mopping up. No question he dug Baines out loads of times and allowed him to attack as much.
Mirallas is halfway out the door, imo. He'll want first team football with Euro2016 looming.
Didnt even look that fussed after he scored yesterday. Then again, he should have been on at halftime (or started). Its a shame - is it mis management of a difficult individual or has he been a nightmare behind the scenes and not performing in training?
Poor handling, rash decisions, poor positioning, poor distribution and general panicking with a real obvious lack of coordination.
You know all round useless.
He's a more complete player than Hibbert. He combines well going forward, something Hibbert could never be accused of!So you're saying he's Tony Hibbert? Because I will. He's solid defensively and very very limited attacking wise.
edit: it feels weird saying that but I miss seeing him in the squad. Shame he's perma-crocked.
Not sure about his training, but defo seems to have been a nightmare to manage. Its a shame - is it mis management of a difficult individual or has he been a nightmare behind the scenes and not performing in training?

With ~5 minutes left to get back into the match, you'd like to think they looked a little fussed. No one ever looks fussed after they've scored a consolation goal.
@Fat Stan created a monster. What a thread.
So they both play for two full games together and now Martinez has ruined them? Don't be silly Baines has been out for 7 MONTHS! I know we all would have liked to have him at full strength right away but obviously he needs to play himself back in form. Also I would argue due to his form last season I wouldn't consider him to the level (Baines that is) that he normally has been and thusly your criticism smacks more of desperation pot shots at Martinez.Relevance, sir?
How many goals have we shipped when we've had Baines & Coleman playing, and against who? And, more to the point, what have been our results? Have we won a game with them both playing?
Have results improved? No.
Has the defence improved? No.
Does it look like things are about to improve? No.
