Roberto Martinez discussion

no but what about Funes Mori , Kone and Mc Geady?
Mori has been here 5 mins and looking decent, Kone was out injured for over a season and once he came back fully fit he helped Roms game....he has slipped away recently. McGeady cost next to nothing and therefore was worth a punt and became a squad filler which was needed. Galloway was a good signing. Rom and McCarthy were the ones that cost serious money and if they were to leave now how much would we get compared to outlay.

Yeah, I agree he should be taken in and out, but should be starting the majority of games now. It's his place to lose rather than for it to be handed to Baines on a player just because he's the senior player.

Galloway should not start over Baines mate, to state he should is ignoring how good a player Baines is and has been for us and overrating how good Galloway has been - he has played very well for a 19yo lad, a few quite bad games in their as well though lets not forget. To state otherwise is absolute nonsense

Thing is though he's clearly not going to. No matter what Howard does he's untouchable, despite us having a better option on the bench. If this isn't explained by us bringing in a new keeper in January (which I don't think we will do) then I think I'll have had it with Martinez and his stubbornness. We're playing a weakened team for no reason.

Robles is useless and no sane manager would deliberately play a weekend team every week out of stubbornness.

No mate, it's the difference between a player who suits the team as a defender and one who is better going forward (a quality we're not short of right now). It's all about blend and Baines with Kone/Mirallas ahead of him is a recipe for weakness at the back.

Maybe its an idea to sort the left side in front of the full back.
When we played bournemouth poor galloway got ripped to pieces

I think we've come to the end of Kone as a starter, tbh. There again, is Mirallas an upgrade on the defensive side of things?

I'd have Cleverley in there for now, but look to move Mirallas on and use the cash to get another young Pienaar in there...if they exist!

I agree about kone because its just not working.
I would go with kev at home and tom away but i agree we need a pienaar esque player in but i would not sell kev

Richard Wright says thanks for that thinking

Yeah there's been a few. But this fella takes the biscuit.

There's no way he's up to it because there's been plenty of opportunities last season to replace Howard and Martinez clearly didn't take them. Like I said there's no way he'd risk his career on backing Howard over Robles (a player he bought) over some petty stubborn streak.
