@davek singe handedly brings balance which is good for the forum by @GrandOldTeam doesn't want that as he HATES Martinez more than anyone on here.

I reckon Davek drives up the traffic on this site, sad to see @GrandOldTeam is such a poor businessman. Someone better call up Mondello Park and let them know that they might have a few tickets to spare thanks to football's most shortsighted administrator.

I really hope mirallas and naismith are sold in Jan so Martinez can bring in a 1st team player...hopefully will show once again how good he is at signing 1st eleven players.

I don't think he is ignoring the here and now. He is building slowly but as fast as resources allow. He failed to get Yarmolenko which was a great shame but felt he couldn't diminish the squad without have a better replacement coming in. He is not in a position to buy 4 - 5 quality players per season. I wish he was. If we could get Yarmolenko in Jan then I am sure he would and would balance the books with a sale of Naismith or Mirallas or both. The older squad players are not good enough but he will be looking at having a squad rather than outing them for just 1 or 2 replacements that would lessen the numbers in the squad. He has kept his word of making the squad stronger each window but it can only be done as quick as availability of cash.

Look at Kooeman last year everybody saying he is superb, but this season he doesn't look as good - I still think a class act.
It is what they try to build and want they bring through the ranks that will be a good measurement, results are vital as well but needs to be balanced against everything.

Hell, look at Jurgen Klopp. Our draw against Watford doesn't look so bad now.

Whoever we may go for is a gamble

Moyes, Martinez,Flores all gambles with little or no idea on how they would fair when signed

Yeah i agree with that but some are hiding behind the martinez is our best option banner and that is rubbish.
There are plenty of managers out there who would do better with our great squad mate

He's a spoofer. He doesn't know his best 11. He's isolated one of our better attacking players in mirallas in favour of Naismith and Kone. Goodison used to be a hard place to come to, other teams are steamrolling us at home last season and now this season. The football has become predictable.
I like that he promotes some youth players but its experience and leadership that we need now. There's no fight or passion in us in games anymore. I don't think he has what it takes to get us cup wins and top 4 league finishes.

Imagine having the best full back combination in the league

One of the most sort after center backs in world football

The second top scorer in the league with 13 goals

The second top assists for one player with 7

An attacking midfielder hailed as the next big thing for club and counrty

And winning 5 in 17 games

only you don't have 3 of those 5 you stated. Overrating your team.

good post mate, your reasoned words belie your youth. Me?, I'm a bit more year-wise grizzled and disillusioned.
A post match Martinez comment : "After we conceded the first goal I thought we had a very good reaction. We scored the goal and from that point on it was almost like trying to get restarted every time."
What does this even mean? The man speaks in gobbledygook.
As some bloke on another forum wrote :

Listening to Martinez is like listening to re-runs of Kung-Fu:

’So, Grasshopper, what have we learned from this experience?’

’I have learned from this experience that I need to learn...’

’Excellent, Grasshopper. And will you learn?’

’No, master.’

’Excellent, Grasshopper. It shows you have learned.’

Funny as it is, that's Martinez speak...he's fast become a phenomenal manager in a good moment of his own parody
You do realise that English is his 2nd language. Stop cluttering up the forum with total crap
