Roberto Martinez discussion

Is it? That's terrible.

Yep. It's definitely well below par and the longer the sample size grows without improving the percentage of wins, the more we lose hope and eventually we'll have to face up the reality that it's not a blip and it's not good enough. Of course it could change and Martinez could achieve some cup success to reinvigorate us (although look what it did to Wigan ) and he will certainly get the opportunity to do so but the signs aren't great at the moment. In fact, in this 55 league game run, we've only managed a winning run 3 times (2 games, 3 games, 2 games) and are yet to win consecutive league games this season. Since he's going to be remain I guess all we can do is hope that he can turn it around.

Can he not see he has to be pro active and not reactive. Come on martinez listen to us fans. Is he just thinking because moyes was consistant in winning us nothing he can do the same. ok we got the semis coming up..is that what keeping him going or in a job. How many more years have we blues got to wait for a succesful change.

I don't think many are happy with were we are in the table. However, there's definitely an overreaction from some. If truth be known, our form is average (as a mid table place suggests) yet some are acting like we're one of the worst teams in the league.

Can we do better? Yes.
Should we be doing better? Arguably, it's a very strange season though and I don't recall a relatively modern season were so many teams have been so easily matched. Sometimes you've just got to tip your hat to other teams and admit they're quite good too.

Overall, I see promising signs. It's a risky game Martinez plays. A gamble in some respects, but if it all comes together, we could do something really special. I guess time will tell.

To be fair, we're playing a lot better. I can't recall too many games where we've been outplayed.

We just need to get the balance right. If we can tighten up at the back, then we know there's goals and good football in this team.
Yes we are but we really need to harden the fudge up. We are throwing points and our best chance of a top 4 finish in years through naivety and tactics.
I like RM but I think that he needs to be judged at the end of this season. With our squad we should be top 6 and European qualification. If we get into or win a cup then I would cut him more slack but that has to be the base expectation. No more excuses.

I agree. It's been a frustrating season. Frustrating because we've played some great stuff. The signs are there though. We look like we can score in most games. Like I said, we just need to to get the balance right, because it's not like we're stinking the place out week in week out.
