Don't blame me, blame davek.

He's convinced me that winning compliments are more important than winning points.

And we've got just the right man in charge to do that.
The hilarious thing about this is that you've been using draws as defeats to attack the manager for the past few weeks.

Damn right.

Who wants to get 1 point for a draw when we could get no points for a loss but 27 different mentions of the word "entertainers" on the internet, on the radio and on the TV in just 1 night.

In fact i reckon someone should make up a massive flag saying "WE ARE THE EVERTON ENTERTAINERS" and wave it round the Park end.

In fact don't stop at one, get the entire stand filled up with flags with Roberto's face on.

And tell any disabled people who can't see to f off.

Or, alternatively, be grateful we're 3 points off 5th place, one step away from Wembley and playing great football, and leave the banners out of it.

Who's not grateful?

After already having claimed the "3 points off 5th place", the "in a semi final", the "neutrals most entertaining team" and the "not as boring as Michael Owen" trophies this season i'm as happy as you are.

Just think we could do with a few flags and banners to communicate that fact at the ground, just think of the platitudes we'd get if we did that as well.

Maybe you could write out a 24 line poem about Martinez and put it on the side of Goodison next to his mural.

That mural was utterly embarassing. Hugely kopite.

Dave if we had not given silly goals away we would have been 5th, sorry mate for me points on the table is more desirable than pretty football.
In historical terms pints, league position, trophies are more remembered than great football. Arguably the football is great as in the 80's when coupled with winning..

That'll come though. What cant be sniffed it as the level of play Martinez has these players at right now. He cant run on the pitch and take all the chances they create himself, but his job is to ensure they play as freely as they can to maximise their talents. He's doing that in spades.

It all boils down to this: do you really believe there's a CL spot beckoning one or two outside of the usual CL spot teams in order to be getting all bent out of shape over dropping points over? Imo, there isn't. I'd put us on a par with Liverpool as having an outside chance of overhauling one of United, Arsenal, City and Spurs (who are about a season ahead of us in terms of development). Then you're having to deal with Chelsea who'll likely come with a second half of the season charge. In the end it's not worth knocking yourself out about finishing in places between the likely 6th - 9th spot I see us taking, realistically.

60+ points should be our target for the season, something I've said all season. Coming up toward the half way point, we are slightly off that pace. But that points target is the realistic one for a team still gelling and with the rebuilding on-going. We'd need 70 odd points to clinch a CL spot and it's beyond us at the moment. Our goal this season is to do something in the cups. We've already done very well in that respect, so let's see if we can take it further.

Here Here! A cup gets us into Europe and with our attacking play we're a threat to anyone on the day.

What do you make of RFUS's point below re: missed opportunity the way the season has started?
