I'd suggest you try doing the same from now on SD...What an odd post. You obviously put time into it as well. How strange.

Is that so Ian?
Well in that case, let me take you back to a different time, a time when Everton had reached the finishing line of a rotten year and the wheels of the post-season inquisition were turning. A man named Ianefc, like a lot of us, was displeased at what he saw and offered this nugget of foresight:

Now, it seems to me that there was someone on this forum who could, indeed, be rightly accused of having low expectations.
His expectations were so low coming into this season, they wouldn't have been able to get on a kid's ride at Disneyworld. We were "goosed". Deulofeu wouldn't get going until the latter half of the season. And don't even talk about Kone, we wouldn't want that. We needed 3-5 players and, if I'm reading this correctly, this man feared for us.
This man was you, Ianefc.
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I know you're tired and want to go home to your family, but I want to outline the hypocrisy on display here, so you can get a feel for the man who stands before you.
He accuses the honorable @davek, a noble and spirited warrior, of having low expectations, while he practically gave up on the season before a ball was kicked. Well, if 10th place with 3 points separating us and the top 5 was worse than Ian expected, what must his low expectations have been? Top of the league? Winning the FA Cup?
What about the prospect of our "Buck's Fizz players" playing "champagne football?". Martinez will never manage it, will he Ian?
I say nay. We are 16 games into a season whose overriding characteristic has been tightness. Competitiveness. Very few points separating teams caught in the midtable mudslide, no quarter being given by the traditionally lower placed teams.
And it brings me back to my point. Expectations. Who has the lowest expectations? Davek, the man who believes Martinez will lead us to the promised land of a cup win? Or Ian, the man who thought we would play turdball all the way into the Championship?
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, enjoy the football El Conquistador is serving up and make up your own mind about tomorrow. Make no mistake, we are 16 games in and can only play a game of forecasts. And, if I may be so bold, I question the predictions of a man who thought we should sell Lukaku in the summer.

To a greater or lesser extent than Kone made his own case to remain a starter? Mirallas would have buried one of the two chances Kone tamely passed back to their keeper. Kone has basically scored one hat trick and played several consecutive games without collapsing, and suddenly he's indispensable? Utter madness. Kone has a place in the squad, but it's not as a nailed-down starter every single game. Martinez continues to make strange decisions re team selection, and this falling out with Mirallas has become detrimental to results.Yeah, I thought Mirallas really laid down his case to start in the last match...
I have to say the weirdest thing about this post is that it's a vault on my low expectations of martinez, that are so far coming to bare, being used against me as a defense of Martinez (I assume) and obviously dave. it's a weird way for the days debate to have ended. still not one of the pro martinez group have commented on our, shall we call it recent form, just mentions of other teams points and our style of play. interesting that. like I have said we all hope that we go on a run on actual real good form and Soon then 2 or 3 of these threads can be closed or left for others to celebrate how right they were and wrong I was. but until the results do that, I feel their is still a debate to be had. vault all you want it will have to be selective and to suit agenda. that's because the majority of my posters are berating yet another abject result or predicting Martinez won't get the results that I feel this squad can get. also anyone who thinks we don't need a secondary striker and a left sided specialist is wrong in my opinion. that's why I thought we needed an additional 3-5 players. Is that so Ian?

And breathe Ian. A two post retort including one with limited grammar or spacing has me worried for you here.
