I feel it will be all about stones and Lukaku being pursued I dont think we will buy anyone!
The other day I read one paper saying Stones was #1 target but now they are back to Lukaku. Agree with you that there will be a lot of speculation about both this January although I can't see us selling either in this window.

Manchester United want Everton hotshot Romelu Lukaku to solve their goal shortage and will launch a move for the Belgian next month. Reports in Italy say that United want an experienced Premier League striker to assist Anthony Martial leading the attack and Lukaku fits that bill.
Lukaku has been enjoying a purple patch recently, hitting 12 league goals in total this season with six coming in his last six outings. United are in desperate need of firepower having only managed 10 goals in their last 12 matches.

While Martial has impressed during his debut season following his big-money move in the summer, manager Louis van Gaal knows he needs a striker who can come straight in and hit the goal trail. Lukaku moved to Everton from Chelsea at the start of last season for £28m on a five-year deal. Everton would be reluctant to sell the 22-year-old but could be persuaded if United come in with a big-money offer.

Package deal--Stones and Lukaku to United for £28M and it's on!

The reporting of the so called profit may have been made after his purchase, but the accounting period being reported was one which ended before his purchase.

Then where did the funds for Martinez, Robles, Kone, McCarthy come from as well as the funds for Deulofue, Barry and Lukaku's initial loans come from?

Sell Rom and Stones buy every kid on Zat's yewtree list and we're set for 4 years until those kids are sold for megabucks. It's a plan that can't fail. How much silver is actually possible to win in a single calendar year?
sell rom, stones and barks. buy sturridge, altintop and huddlestone. we would win da lig.

Once again @Dymak preaching the common sense some of you just don't want to hear.

How was the recruitment of Stones, the integration of Barkley, the loaning of Deulofeu anything to do with the TV money? Equally Cleverley and Besic for minimal funds? It wasn't.

We have our best squad (apparently) through the culmination of two managers long term work in player trading and youth acquisition and development. The bulk of it was brought in before the new to deal anyway. All the tv deal has done has removed the financial necessity to sell to service the debt. It has not, as of yet allowed us to pull out huge transfers from our own capital without player trading. If you think it will prevent the sales of Stones and Lukaku you are most probably mistaken.

Martinez sold Anichebe Jelavic Fellaini and Heitinga in his first season to free up funds for the players he wanted. No sales, no McCarthy or Lukaku on a perm deal.

Sensible player trading, youth acquisition and development will be just as important as ever in growing the value of the squad and hopefully seeing that translated into points.

But, isn't that the case for every team. In recent seasons most clubs are trying to balance their books and this is not just being afraid of the FFP rules.
Utd are probably the one major exception in the last three seasons and their spending spree is from the fear of being left behind in the Premier league and the fear of losing hundreds of millions in non football income.
Chelsea have been largely balancing their books in recent seasons and even money bags City have largely cut out the reckless spending.

We sold other players like Anichebe etc, there was also increases in TV money etc, and I'm not stupid enough to try and make out that cash flow works in a linear fashion in which the actual £50 notes that were handed over on the sale of Fellaini are the exact same £50 notes that were used to sign Lukaku. But without that 28 million cash injection from the sale of Fellaini, we simply would not have Lukaku et al.

If we could have done then why didn't we? And it would mean we would have our current squad without a 28 million cash injection, and with the services of Fellaini to boot.

Hang on @Saint Domingo (The Gaffer) said it was nothing go to do with TV MONEY and I'm sure someone else said its wasn't either..
