Impossible.
They've let in nearly as many corners as we have this season, he's also got a bigger, more organised defence in front of him so you don't notice it.
Was absolutely no better than Tim against Chelsea. Some on here are just too hypercritical of Tim to notice a lot of other keepers are exactly the same.

Some people try too hard to make controversial statements as if they are relevant as they try too hard to fit in. Maybe they should watch some football matches.

Nothing will happen about Stones in this window. Stones is playing every week and is performing very well most weeks. The Euros are just around the corner and he won't want to do anything drastic that could affect his form.

Chelsea could not persuade Everton to sell in the last window. Nothing has changed apart from Chelsea now being outside the relgation zone on goal difference only and their manager saying he has been betrayed by his players.

I am sure John Stones can hardly wait to get down into that dressing room.

Stones wouldn't even help that Chelsea defense, it's rotten all the way through including the midfielders. Chelsea's chance to get him has passed now anyway, bigger clubs will be interested and he won't go somewhere with no CL next season and a manager that throws his players under the bus. Plus we won't let him go anywhere until summer anyway.

stones still would go to Chelsea if we accepted a bid as he would still be first choice and be able to command wages we can't afford to pay. More importantly Chelsea have the money to buy top level talent if they so wish which is attractive to any player. They aren't suddenly a terrible team and a couple if big signings or a new manager could have them winning again.

The only thing that would stop stones leaving is our asking price. We proved thus summer that we won't sell cheap and it's whether any club would be comfortable paying so much for him when they can buy a foreign talent for cheaper.

People criticise him because he's a nothing player who the team is no longer equipped to carry.

At least Schmeichel is an occasional match-winner, whereas the best you ever get from Howard is 90 minutes where he doesn't get beat at his near post or caught out from long range.

Also, I imagine most would have a lot more faith in Martinez's ability to find a better goalkeeper than they would his chances of learning how to organise a defence enough to protect the current one.

Breel Embolo named in the daily mail as most likely to move to us in jan as opposed to other sides...

He was one of my picks.

Err why on earth would John want to join Chlesea when even Mourinho has admitted top 4 is our of reach?

Mourinho failed with four bids to land Stones in a summer-long transfer tug of war but still believes he can prise the star away from Everton.

Express Sport understands that he has the support of owner Roman Abramovich who agrees that Stones could be pivotal in getting Chelsea out of the Premier League hole that they're in.

Mourinho also hopes that another bid would encourage the player himself to pressure Everton to allow him to move.
Stones has already been having intensive Spanish lessons the Judas RAT.

We should sell Stones for 50 million, and then buy Shawcross and Dann with the cash. The end result would be that we have a better defence than what we currently have, which is actually a poor defence.

Got a link Zat? Would be a great signing, though at 18 wouldn't be ready for our first team yet I don't think. Williams or Didavi from Stuttgart would be my choices.

Wow.

We're not bad at defending, IMO. We don't really concede from open play.

We're poor at defending certain situations - i.e. crosses into the box, and that is something that obviously needs to be worked on.

Dann and Shawcross are both good defenders, but you're actually suggesting selling one of the most promising footballers on the planet now and replacing them with those two?

you know that for definite do you?

we would prob lose possession more and untimately conced more goals, although we might concede less goals at set pieces

why arent shawcross and dann playing for better clubs?
