I enjoy (some of) the football too, and I've just said that he deserves credit for the things he has done well. To me that is just common sense, not something that even needs to be discussed. I have no agenda at all, other than to see Everton do well.
I'd had enough of Moyes by the time he left so you won't find me desperately trying to compare him favourably to Martinez, but in the interest of balance I would say that if he could convince good footballers like Pienaar, Arteta, Gibson, Donovan etc to join, then there's a decent chance he could have brought in the likes of Barry and Cleverley. Obviously neither of us know for sure but that would be my opinion. I doubt he would have brought in Deulofeu and Martinez gets a lot of credit in my book for that one.
Maybe I misunderstood what you were trying to say with regard to attracting players, but in my defence it's easy to do when a number of posters on here attempt to convince us all that Martinez isn't to blame for anything and we're lucky that he agreed to be paid a huge amount of money to lead us to draws with relegation fodder. As i've said, i like him in the main, but i'm yet to be convinced that he's really taking us places. Others clearly are convinced, and I can assure you that nobody will be happier than me if they turn out to be correct.
