Roberto Martinez discussion

No mate, just counter the arguments you're getting back if those opposing your stance are so, so wrong.

But you see? They're offering reasonable opinions.
He didn't offer anything he said unless you're a seasoned PL Manager you shouldn't offer an opinion I assume that includes people who think Martinez is doing a good job too. Although I doubt that, so what he's really saying is disagree with the pro Martinez stance you're a 'FM playing Ferret' which isn't a fair appraisal of the situation, my opinion is we have s really really good squad of players massively to Martinez credit, but that squad isn't getting the results anyone can be 100% happy with, and that's where people's tolerance is tested. You and others talk about building to the future. Do you really see this squad with its talented core sticking together for 8th to 12th placed finishes? Really? If someone could guarantee it then great lets go with it, but no one can, if and I do mean IF this season will go down as an opportunity missed.

Could you imagine a solid season with clear progression enough to convince our stars to stick around, backed by the biggest influx of money the football world will have ever seen for Martinez to add again, that ain't happening when you win 1 in 3.

I'm perfectly happy for Martinez to get it right, really I'm happy for anyone to get it right, 1 in 3 with this talent isn't good enough.

If someone had called this seasons results or even this run of results of the last 5 or 6 games they'd of been laughed out of here for being negative with an anti-Martknez agenda and now we are here after a garbage set of results.

And that it's alright to moan on an Internet forum if you feel like. Agreed! But expect to be called out if that moaning is excessive, out of touch and makes you look more like a Geordie than an Evertonian.

Does that mean i can call you out for being a tedious bore when you make about 200 posts a day about "Geordie bellwhiffs, FIFA loving, FM playing, under 30 years of age whoppers"?

Just asking like.

You're basing your angst on stuff happening that hasn't happened yet mate.

Have a read back and let that soak in. If it does happen then we can both moan about it together.

You don't get it do you? Even those who are trying to provide balance against the Geordie biffs on here are critical of Martinez but they have a reasoned approach to it. Could things have gone better in the last few games? Of course.

The tedious agenda against him every time there's an adverse result is the problem. If you can't see that then you're probably part of the problem. It's out of touch with the majority of the fans for reason and it's not because you're a pioneer or have dead boss standards lar. It's usually because those doing it are morbid tits.
My outlook on the RM bandwagon of hate is fairly straightforward. I reckon all the ones who crawl from under their rocks at any opportunity are the ones you will find never wanted RM as manager. They want to berate him and call for his head so they can point out that they knew he was not the man for the job. The sad part of all this is that there is a small part of them who want Everton to fail, as this enhances their stance on him.
I am under no illusion we have issues in defending set pieces, the team and the crowd look nervous and it is something we need to rectify and quickly. What some tend to forget is that we are playing football that I never dared to think we could play, and we are seeing good quality young players being given prolonged opportunities.
Constructive stuff is good, but some of the stuff on here makes me question people's actual sanity
Some good posters who oppose RM, but constructive in their arguments
Some though...dear god

It's happening right now for the past 18 months we've average one league win in three, the history of the PL shows top players do NOT hang around at mid ranking teams, even the likes of UTD Liverpool an to a lesser extent Spurs lose their top players so what chance do we have with a FB base seemingly accepting of 11th to 8th as long as the football is apparently scintillating

Your point is confused (you're not alone in here so don't worry) so I hope you allow me to paraphrase a little.

You seemingly conclude that you're upset because everyone says we have a top four squad and that you don't believe that and instead you think we need investment.

So why you being a hero in here instead of the Board Thread

And that it's alright to moan on an Internet forum if you feel like. Agreed! But expect to be called out if that moaning is excessive, out of touch and makes you look more like a Geordie than an Evertonian.

It isn't confused, and nobody is being a hero. I get more wound up by the delusion than I do by the reality. The delusion plays a strong part in the forum 'fume', which is actually quite mild to be honest. The delusion results in a skewed assessment of where we are as a club, which leads to people calling people 'tits' if they dare to state that we are operating at the same level as Stoke, which is the current reality.

We are constantly being told that this is the best squad in 30 years, if that is the case, then shouldn't we be expecting a finish beyond mid-table, or should we be content with operating at the same level as Stoke and Watford?

We do have our best squad in 30 years m8, but so do the likes of Stoke, Watford, Leicester etc. If you told me a few years back that Stoke would be fielding a squad that included Shaqiri and Bojan I would have told you to get in the bin. It's a highly competitive league, the lads on here thinking that the rest of the PL has just stood still and only we have gotten better need to have a proper word with themselves. We can't rock up to every Premier League ground and blow teams away (though we've made a decent fist of it I'd say), its the sense of entitlement we're Loling at.

To date, Martinez' Everton has underperformed.

Great first season, despite the last minute bottle job. 10th last season, just. We're 10th now.

Our team last season, and team now is better than 10th.

If your content with 10th, your accepting that our ambition has regressed under Martinez.

The manager isn't getting the best out of his players.

The season isn't over yet - a lot to play, but he has to get his team to find consistency.

The next 7 weeks are crucial.

Over to you, Bobby lad.

Aye it's weird stuff. Nuggets like @hktoffee who was fuming about us being linked with a relegated manager before he even joined.

It's these same FIFA playing Texans who wanted that Porto Manager that no one had heard of because he was foreign and wore an armband.

I hold Evertonians to higher standards than that but the vast majority of them are barely into pubes, or wools.

It's been happening for 18 months now but boss players don't hang around and yet they're still here and signing new contracts regularly.

Something I can't work out here mate. Please help me.

Oh you're reading the future again!
