Roberto Martinez discussion

But there is no Martinez Out campaign to speak of. Nobody is using bed sheets with incorrect spelling to protest at the match. What there is, is a lot of shouting down about anyone who doesn't agree with the current delusion. They are all FM beauts under the age of 30, apparently.

Anyone on here who believes they know better than a fully qualified seasoned premier league manager IS a FM playing ferret

Every day it's mutants telling us how he should be doing this that and the other in training, he should bring on x,y,z during the match, he needs to alter his tactics and coaching methods

That's going to take place on a message board dedicated to the discussion of football, but it's not just those who think they know better than Martinez who are being vilified, it's anyone who doesn't go along with the notion that Martinez and this team are the second coming. To suggest this current crop of players and manager aren't good enough to realise our ambitions has become sacrilege in some quarters.

A lot of them are yes. Are you?

We've had 70 odd pages of tedium over a young team making mistakes through inexperience. If they took just one of those abundant chances in the first half yesterday then it would have been a different game. Those chances didn't fall to Martinez.

But seventy pages of mostly tosh over an away draw where for half of it any same minded neutral was admiring an exciting young Everton team seemingly on the up.

We're not going anywhere fast with the current ownership of the club so why the unnecessary fume against the manager trying to build something sustainable?

I'll tell you why because they're a symptom of modern footie bells who are more damaging to a club in our position than a help.

So plenty of us on here will occasionally nip in and try to put that point across. Unfortunately the only way you can get through is by matching the tithead behaviour. Apologies for that.

You don't get it do you? Even those who are trying to provide balance against the Geordie biffs on here are critical of Martinez but they have a reasoned approach to it. Could things have gone better in the last few games? Of course.

The tedious agenda against him every time there's an adverse result is the problem. If you can't see that then you're probably part of the problem. It's out of touch with the majority of the fans for reason and it's not because you're a pioneer or have dead boss standards lar. It's usually because those doing it are morbid tits.

How are fans who believe the team is underperforming 'damaging' the club?

I'm not on about discussion I'm on about the ones who honestly believe they know better than Martinez

They sit there in work all week drawing formations on a4 paper showing anyone who makes eye contact

By that logic, every football manager, regardless of ability is beyond criticism and must be blindly followed. Therefore those fans disillusioned with Walter Smith or Mike Walker had no right to be. Those who questioned Moyes, had no right to (which by the way includes your hero Davek). Fans should blindly follow any qualified manager even into relegation because they know best.

Well if they wern't becoming so frequent it wouldn't be a problem.

I've no agenda against Martinez, but he HAS to get it sorted. Draws are simply not good enough - and especially not from winning positions.

These draws could become a problem not just in the sense of the missed points but because of the confidence issue, they are not kicking on everyone expect.

The biggest danger is the team breaking up by pushing for transfers, if that happens at the end of the season then I'll be lamenting these draws as much as anyone, that's quite some distance away yet.

Saying that the next seven weeks (as someone astutely pointed out yesterday) are big because it encompasses the festive period and a tough January in the league, two semi finals in the League Cup and two rounds of the FA Cup.

You could have our season defined by the end of January. Let's talk then.

How are fans who believe the team is underperforming 'damaging' the club?

Where did I say it's fans believing the team is underperforming damaging the club?

Come on mate, put the Pokemon down if you're going to try and point score against me.

You're one of a number of fans, who much like Evertons boa

I didn't say dont question him now did I

I said I have an issue with the idiots who go on like they know what it's about to be a manager, they don't post opinions they post what he should and needs to to for us to improve

Its laughable
