Happy Blues

Medium happy with things on playing field, could potentially be extremely happy.

Raging with the board and how we far behind the others we really are.

So to answer your question I'm medium happy.

Does this make me a bad person??

I've got a right miserable old so and so sat behind me, always moaning about Ross, Rom and now Gerard and how they should be sold. And he always leaves at least ten mins before the end of the game and last night, we hadn't even got the ball back to the centre spot after their goal before he was scurrying off down the stairs... serves the daft sod right that we equalised :)

Sounds like somebody needs to take a break from going the game! If you couldn't enjoy last night even a little its probably a good sign, we played some great stuff at times.

I couldn't make the game yesterday so I had to watch it at the pub with my old man, and even though we didn't win, he was smiling throughout at some of the stuff we were playing. Think he's enjoying Stones-Rom-Ross-Gerri as much as I am, we were only fuming about Kone not being took off for Mirallas

At the game last night I was sat next to two guys who I had a good old chin-wag with. Like me, they love going the game. No moaning, just enjoying watching our team. It was good to chat with them.

So, do we have any happy blues here? maybe we should all sit together at the game and smile at everyone.

When I was a kid, going the game was a huge thrill. I did not worry about the points or other teams results. I just enjoyed seeing Everton play. Then I drifted into the panic mode and worried about every result and point. Now ( I am glad to say) I seem to have gone full circle and become the chilled out dude again. I am enjoying the games again. It is not all about winning, although that is always nice. Going the game has become fun again, and I like it.

The many years of being total crap are gone for us. The negative years of Moyes are gone. We have a decent side now. Some good players, some great players, and a few top notch players. It is not perfect, but I think these lads are starting to click together. They could be anything. We are in a cup semi-final, and look like easily getting into round 4 of the FA cup. The league is ok, we are not miles behind. This is the best it has been for a long time, enjoy it.

Any other happy Blues then give us a wave between the moaning posts that are sure to follow.

So you talked all the way through the game?

I think Bill Bryson was sat next to him when he went to GP.

I am happy as can be with the fayre on display in the last three home games.

Fantastic stuff.

Everton make me happy in good times and bad.

Not just on the pitch......but through every personal crisis I have ever had.

When I was younger and nursing broken hearts......Everton always lifted me.

When I have been ill.....Evertin took my mind of it.

When I have had to grieve beloved relatives.....Everton was and remains the light at the end of the tunnel.

EFC has enriched my life.

And will do so until the day I die.

(I would still like to see us win another trophy before that day arrives, though ;))

Everton owes me nothing.....I owe Everton my sanity.

I think it's subjective really. I can assure you that if you were in my position, and travelling 200 miles for every home game, you would not be happy to watch some of the fayre we've served up over the last 15 months. The last few games have been a huge improvement but maybe the last season or so has made me a bit less forgiving.

My old fella has been going for 50 years and he couldn't care less if we play like Barcelona on acid for 90 minutes, if we get beat he'll be fuming. My mate who sits with us would rather see us play good footy and draw (never lose) while my dad would rather see us hoof it and defend for 89 minutes as long as we scored in the 90th.

It'd be boring if we were all the same.

I'd have said something to him by now.

The thing is, when he arrives each game he always says hello and we have a laugh about how the day might pan out.
Once the game is under way though, he either sits there like a garden gnome saying nothing... or chunters to himself about selling Rom, ross and now Gerry... it's almost a relief when he sods off at the 70-minute mark :)

A fella used to sit in front of me in the top balcony, 95/96 season.

I swear he just used to talk for 90 mins, every week, about the Isle of Man to those around him.

He was a happy blue though, like myself generally.
