Did Joel do enough to get a run?

Should Robles get some games as Nr 1 in the Prem?

Hmmm.................

Come on now chaps he had nothing to do all game.

One shot straight at him was all, and even that one that extremely dexterous dog in the Howard thread would be have been mortified if it had let it in. It doesn't really count in my book to be honest, like last seasons WBA game he played in.

That disallowed goal could easily have stood and that punch away under no pressure in the second half was typical of his clown like nature. It was also evident from the way John Stones refused to pass back several times the defence has no confidence in him or his distribution.

Howard will rightly be reinstalled for Monday and I'm sure now we've come so far he'll play in both semi final legs.

He won't. Robles is the goalie for this comp to the bitter end and possibly the FA cup too.

In the same way Howard is the goalie for the prem. to the bitter end.
You nailed it mate. People just need to accept that's the way it is and get behind whoever starts

Stones has a go at him every single game, the "defence looks more comfortable" line is an total myth.

Dont agree with the bold part though it could have even been a booking imo

I suspect close to the first name on Martinez's PL team sheet is Tim Howard...and will be until Tim decides to leave. If he wanted to extend his contract another 5 years, he probably could. Martinez rates him as high as that.
But I think Joel will play in the semi-final of the League Cup.

If that was Liverpool playing us (or Liverpool playing anyone for that matter), that goal would have stood...nailed on it would.

Can't see Martinez dropping Joel for the semi's.

Same usual rhetoric from you Doug the free kick from Downing was not straight at him, his punch was brilliant straight out sideward so for a throwing, and his gloves had super glue on the as he stopped everything with his hands catching the ball, they had more attempts on goal than us - give the young athletic lad who's ball distribution was top class tonight Doug no sour grapes please;)

Robles makes no attempt to jump or challenge for the ball, foul or not, he's pinned to his line even with the protection they get and about a 7" advantage on the forward.

Very poor and if Howard did that he'd be ripped apart on here. That's before we get to that needless punch..

The Downing free kick where he's left so much space to invite a shoot that my nan spotted on the eve of her cataract op!

Come on Joe be fair that was awful goalkeeping and he was very lucky to not conceded to that.
