Why shouldn't he criticise the fans? They acted like bells. They are bells. He was very tame with his comments. It's amazing more footballers don't come out and criticise fans

If his interaction with most fans goes anything like the way the fans here talk about him, I can't blame him for being upset with them.

Behave you beut, theres always been a good relationship there with the majority its only since hes had his head lodged firmly up his ass that hes got deserved stick. Hes got a chip on his shoulder and evertonians are the best at calling them out

and that is certainly going to endear players to there own fans. The last thing you do is criticise your own fans. Anyhow, the substitution was the added time but to blame the fans for not being able to hold out for another 30 secs or so is scraping the barrel and deflecting there own sh!teness

He said they didn't have the concentration to hold on, he never blamed the fans for conceding the goal.

Howard said; You got the sense that once the celebration went on the time would be added on and unfortunately it was.

We all thought we had won it, but we didn’t. In the end we got the goal we needed but then we didn’t have that little bit of concentration we needed
.

Bournemouth's Adam Smith said; the ref added on a bit more time because they celebrated for so long. It is their own fault really and it came back to bite them.

It gave me a lot of anger to try and make something happen. I’m so happy it did
.

Anyone berating him for those comments are extremely petty. He's clearly right as confirmed by the opposition.

Yeah all those fans that let that goal in, we should cancel their contracts.

Oh wait.

As a professional footballer you should remain fully focused on the task at hand for the 90+ minutes you are on the pitch. Especially if you're a goalkeeper.

Shocking comments from Howard. The man is a disgrace trying to blame the fans when he stood like Moses for the cross. And as for his theatrical dive after the ball went past him.....taxi to join the other clowns in American Wrestling maybe?

Fingers crossed Robles plays a stormer tomorrow and this lump can be packed off in January.

You have to read what Howard actually said, rather than the sensation-seeking headline.

“You want to take time to celebrate but you don’t want to take too much time.

“You got the sense that once the celebration went on the time would be added on and unfortunately it was."

He doesn't have a go at the fans there, and his comments could easily be referring to how long his team-mates took in their celebrations.

I've been a fierce critic of Howard on here, but there were players far more at fault than him against Bournemouth. Yes, his positioning wasn't great for the third goal. He needed to be more central to the goal, rather than right on the post, whilst still keeping alert for a near post shot. By being right on the post, he left the whole goal open and gave himself too much ground to cover to stop the header.

However, the players in front of him were far more culpable. The whole team defended very poorly in the 2nd half and allowed Bournemouth too much time on the ball. There was no closing down at all. The match should have been all over by injury time.

We can't blame Howard for this one.
