Tim Howard

It's Sunday evening, the day after a marvellous win, yet another very compertent goalkeeping display and a clean sheet. But some people already think Bournemouth will be 'targeting' Howard..

#haters4life

I'm going to write a letter to Father Christmas, to get him to stop certain posters on here hating Tim Howard because of the country he was born in.

You know who you are.

I'm sticking to my guns on this one as ive always done with him...putting his playing ability to one side:

A-- He's written lies in a book about a fellow professional (Friedel) and had to remove them due to them being libelous and slanderous. This alone is pretty shocking.

B-- He's stated now in several interviews how he doesnt care about any criticism. The way he came across in each interview as arrogant and smug doesn't sit right with me and anyone doing their job to the best of their ability should use criticism to improve themselves.

C-- The latest comments about not caring what us fans think. Well, from a purely business perspective he would be sacked as an employee for making comments that he doesnt care what customers think.

Moving on from that onto his playing ability....well, its all been done to death really. As for his personal life he's doing tattoos and getting girls to have abortions despite supposedly being a strict christian....seems to be a bit of a fraud/hypocrite to me.

I just dont like the man. He's not the sort i want at the club....compare and contrast with Tim Cahill for example.

If he was the club's star performer would you be bringing into question his morals/ attitude in interviews, etc

Pure racism mate!

We all know what bubbles under the surface with some of these post Donald.

It's a throwback and someone of these young whipper snappers long for a return to standing on the Gwladys screaming hate fueled bile at certain players to feel part of the 'fabric'. Shamefully some of the older ones hark back to the bad old days as well it seems.

It's a society problem and not exclusive to Everton I must add.

Yeah those dark days have never left us I fear!

They're a bit different as they didnt directly involve telling the clubs fans/customers to "do one".

However yes if you look in the Gibson thread i said he should be sacked.

@Zatara do you hate Gibson and peinaar as well? Their actions off the pitch don't mesh with that friendly club feel

Depending on the context then yes of course. Making media statements over the course of a year culminating in telling the supporters he doesnt give "two hoots" what they think...

How to support a player like that?

Of course he wouldn't.

You been in the Lukaku thread lately mate?
I had my moments with rom it's true, and I was also quite outspoken about Gerry in his first stint with us. What a turn around in a player Gerry has become, he is also bringing the best out of players around him. Rom Looks like he can't wait to get on a football field at the moment and looks in unstoppable form. Just goes to show there are many aspects to why players underperform, some we can see, some don't get to hear about. watching this side and it's young players has taught me not to get too high or too low about their performances, luckily our youngsters all look in sparkling form atm.

As was I...mostly because I thought everyone massively overrated him. He had one trick in his bag and he wasn't very good at it.

He's improved his game so much from that season to now. Pretty amazing how much better he is.

I actually should have a word with myself for being hard on a youngster like him.

Fair enough on gibson, just pointing out that if you're going to hate players due to their personality/actions off the field not being Everton material then it should be consistent across the board.also dont think saying he doesn't care about criticism on social media is telling all the fans to do one. Just the bells who send abuse on twitter, etc even when he's just promoting his TS charity

Dougie - Howard had nothing to do yesterday. The one back pass from Mori that was under hit saw him charge out like a man possessed. On another occasion that could easily have been a red card. He had no composure there at all.

All this talk of racism is absolutely ridiculous.

Howard joined us as a half decent Premier League goalkeeper. I didn't mind at all he joined us from United's reserves. At that point they were a long way ahead of us.

Last season and so far this year he's seriously regressed. His inability to challenge for the high ball is inexcusable. We are now strong all over the park save for between the sticks.

Add to that his recent media profile and you can see why a lot of fans have turned against him.

A clean sheet against Villa means nothing. Martinez needs to do something in January and the sooner he makes a decision on Howard and Robles the better.

I'm sure if a move was arranged sensibly he could go across to the MLS as a big name
