Computer games.

Thanks for that, I might give raceroom a crack when i get an opportunity, can't moan at it being free.
Beware, you only one track and about 4 cars for free. the rest is in dlc. its not too badly priced(The newest one is DTM 2015 that is around £16), and there are lots of licensed series(DTM, ADAC, WTCC) that are there. Ive been playing it the past couple of days and it is pretty good, if not quite up to the level of iracing or Assetto Corsa.

Another one that hasn't been mentioned is Copa Petrobas de Marcas. Its Brazilian stock cars just because it was the cheapest licence going at the time and the studio making it had no money. Its completely free, but doesn't have much content. Its very good, but also seems to be fairly forgiving when I PLAY so it might be worth giving it a go with a controller. If you like it, the same studio makes Stock Car Extreme(way more content+tons of mods), which I haven't played but is supposed to be brilliant.

I've not tried Assetto Corsa with a joypad, its physics are generally more forgiving than iRacings though so i can only imagine iRacing would be even harder. Project Cars is probably ok with a joypad but thats more of a simcade title than a proper sim.

I think http://game.raceroom.com has quite good joypad support, i know lots of its users use a joypad. It's not a hardcore sim like iRacing, rFactor 2, AC etc but it's much more of a sim than say Project Cars, Forza, Gran Turismo etc.

Although i said earlier that you'd get creamed if you played iRacing with a joypad there are people who are decent with one, you just have to have extremely steady and smooth thumb work. Also it's not a game where you just jump in an do races, most people practice for hours before even doing one race, making sure they can consistently hit the same lap time within a couple of tenths. The standard is ridiculously high, people who set world records in Forza and Gran Truismo sign up thinking they are going to be the shiznit and end up getting annihilated and being 2-3 seconds off the pace per lap !
Sounds like you need the Simpit Icarus!

My review of AC: Syndicate

Pretty much in line with most other reviews. I may have been slightly more positive than some

You do tend to score highly mate!

Just played it for a bit, and detest it personally. That combat system is as archaic as it can possibly be. Everything is on rails, and the story is just horrid.

5/10 here, mostly for the aesthetics. Whole thing needs a complete reboot - or preferably just binned.

On a plus note, Uncharted Collection is ace; value for money right there.
