Computer games.

99% of users use Wheel and Pedals, it really is the only way to play it. Having said that there are some people who have had some limited success using a Xbox 360 joypad, realistically though you're going to creamed by wheel users. The G27 is the most popular wheel but its considered one of the 'cheap' wheels believe it or not. Lots of users spend a fortune on their setups. For example i know someone who just spent £4200 buying a Leo Bodnar Sim Steering 2 setup which professional racing teams use in their simulators. The user base is very hardcore but very friendly and very helpful.

It's a great tool for learning to race as well, one of my friends won the online Mazda Cup series and was flown off to America to compete in a knockout competition for a real life seat in the MX5 Playboy cup !

Also lots of real life motorsport stars use it, drivers from Indycar, Nascar, BTCC, Aussie V8, Blancpain GT3 etc often train on it due to the mm accuracy of the tracks, every single tree, sign etc is positioned correctly so they can use their real life braking markers etc. Every single bump thats there in real life you can feel through the FFB.

This video does good job of showing you how accurate they are, its pretty nuts.

I sound like a right fanboy but there is no other racing game which comes close to it, Assetto Corsa has great physics but everything else about it sucks. iRacing just kills it in all areas !

It ain't got nothin' on Project Gotham......

I've wanted to give this a go for a while but I've neither got a computer capable of playing it or a wheel/pedals. It looks ace. Racing games are the only games I'm half decent at.

How is that series still going? Three (now four) games sustained solely by the hype generated but left unfulfilled by the first one. Molyneux is the Chris Roberts of this country.
HAHA!!

Let me just go and drop another $1000 on concept ships, cheque payable to Roberts Space Industries........

Been playing through Telltales 'Walking Dead' game as it's free this month on Gold.

Didn't think a game could be as heavy as the actual series! The bit with "Duck" in the forest ffs!!! :( :( :(

Highly reccomended ;)
Downloaded this yesterday haven't got round to playing it, been engrossed in Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires, love it favourite type of game

See, I actually really liked the first two. They weren't unbelievably good or anything, but take the hype away and judge them on their own merits, and they are good RPGs.

That third one though...

Anyway, sort of beside the point - the new one is a shameless MOBA cash grab game using the licence for that end only.

liking the combat on the witcher, really dont like the combat they have on batman and shadow of mordar, feels like your playing a rythym/dance game and not actually fighting someone

You can play it on relatively low end machinery, you'll just have to turn some of the graphic settings down. The beauty of iracing is that its not a performance drain as it runs on a relatively old engine and thus you can get good FPS on modest machines.

The wheel/pedals bit is unfortunately a stumbling block for many, as is the cost of the actual service.

I bought Assetto Corsa recently and it's near enough impossible on my joypad, not sure I would like to pay money for a wheel and pedals which is a shame as I like the look of it and project cars.

Never come across iracing before. Is there any sim racing games as opposed to arcade racing games where a joypad is an option that works?

I've not tried Assetto Corsa with a joypad, its physics are generally more forgiving than iRacings though so i can only imagine iRacing would be even harder. Project Cars is probably ok with a joypad but thats more of a simcade title than a proper sim.

I think http://game.raceroom.com has quite good joypad support, i know lots of its users use a joypad. It's not a hardcore sim like iRacing, rFactor 2, AC etc but it's much more of a sim than say Project Cars, Forza, Gran Turismo etc.

Although i said earlier that you'd get creamed if you played iRacing with a joypad there are people who are decent with one, you just have to have extremely steady and smooth thumb work. Also it's not a game where you just jump in an do races, most people practice for hours before even doing one race, making sure they can consistently hit the same lap time within a couple of tenths. The standard is ridiculously high, people who set world records in Forza and Gran Truismo sign up thinking they are going to be the shiznit and end up getting annihilated and being 2-3 seconds off the pace per lap !

Thanks for that, I might give raceroom a crack when i get an opportunity, can't moan at it being free.

That been the biggest complaint against the wicther. The combat. To be fair I do love the batman combat
