Just downloaded an app called Hola launcher which is quite popular and organises apps and things on your phone, when I used it however it's default recognition of this app categorised it as a game instead of social - not really sure if this can be changed or anything, it's not a problem but just something I noticed!

Still loving the app

@GoatJR has tried to install the app on his Kindle Fire HD7 without any success.

Kindle's have their own O/S, based on Android v4 something or other. Presumably you wouldn't expect it work ?

If anyone reading this has the app up and running on said Kindle please pipe up.

I'm up and running on the app now on my Kindle have this app store which will download anything so just downloaded it on that, before us say why didn't u do that in the first place I already did but it didn't install.

Really have no time to read 10 pages now, so if someone already said it, I apologise - App is absolutely great and you guys did great job, but when I try to open forum, it just shows like 10 latest threads so I have to open one of them in order to get to the home page of forum. Would be much more handy to get redirected automaticly to home page of forum when pressing "forum" (menu in top-left, just below "Home"), or to, at least, have it on top.

Note: I am using iOS version.

I believe the app isn't really for using the forum mate. It's like an added extra sort of thing that you can get on and have a quick look sort of thing.

I agree with this, auto to the forum "home" screen would be better.

Its the reason I still use the site! I come on mainly for the forum and find it difficult to navigate, look at what I want to.

I did raise the same issue earlier in the thread, GOT made their reasons clear (fair enough, like).

Personally my issue with having to open the forum in a browser (keeping the tab permanently live) is if I have GOT as a bookmark link on my tablet, it would open a new instance on a new tab, rather than refreshing the existing tab.

I was hoping the GOT app would utilise features akin to forum apps like Tapatalk, integrating notifications of likes/quotes etc. Can't help feeling that having the same browser-based forum in the app is a missed opportunity.

If the app went direct to the forum from the 'forum' link (fully refreshing), I'd certainly use the app over browser. As it is, it just feels like too many clicks.

This is exactly why I don't use the app on my phone, either i'm afraid of change or just out of pure laziness.

How do you receive them alerts people are Damo was posting about, they would be handy.

A frustration I've had when using the app to browse is how the back button doesn't take you back to the thread page you were on before but takes you back to the pre browser page of threads, meaning you have to go through all the shenanigans of entering a thread via that and using it to access the rest of GOT. Makes it prohibitive to use.
