In terms of bang for buck, the 6600K is one of the best available. The 6700k is clearly a better processor, but you have to pay for the privilege. You lose hyperthreading, 2MB of Intels 'Smart Cache' and some clock speed, but you save over $100 with the 6600k.

So long as you get a decent motherboard and a cracking gfx, the cpu won't matter so much, unless mega processor intensive tasks are in your future (video processing being the main one for consumers these days), I would save the money and go 6600k

Some games use CPU for PhysX though friend. Witcher III being an example. Alot of people were annoyed by this.

You need to have a decent CPU to run the decent GPUs.

Obviously the i5 6600K is a decent CPU. No doubt. Its top of its class.

However, I was talking from my own preferences earlier.
