John Stones transfer saga

This is what I'm hoping for. The moment the transfer window shuts, we employ the best law team we can afford and go after Chelsea.

If we kick up a big enough fuss, we may even get somewhere towards shifting the transfer window to purely off-season.

Would love a window to shut before the season starts.

Similar to that about those lads shouting some questions at The Glorious Leader through that fence. As if fans are some sort of serf underlings that cannot question/complain.

"Where's the Arteta money, Bill?"

Or you know we could just concentrate on football again.

There is an arguement that they have broken rules re tapping up but I am not quite sure what employment or contract law they have broken.

Football wouldn't want issues around players contracts tested further for in effect denying a player who is an employee the same employment rights as just about everyone else is hard to defend

If they via his agent in any way encourage him not to play... or break his contract

There's grounds for legal action

Lots of references to 'bigger' clubs on that forum, but what they really mean is 'richer' clubs.

I wonder for how long they think Chelsea have been a 'bigger' club - their definition - than Everton.

Five years? Eight years? How long?

Gggrrrr - they also talk about being more successful

Think I'd cry if I was going all way to Liverpool only to come back home to Barnsley,

How would some of you react if he signed a new 4 year deal this afternoon and all he was doing all along is playing the game to get his wages in line with rest of your squad ?

Is this really a Chelsea v Everton thing or is it the bigger picture of people who don't see the game beyond cash having too much influence and power. I have never seen a media campaign like the one with Stones and however things have happened in the past this time it screams that they don't care any more. Fans are not even people they think they have to answer to now.

Yeah, just forgive and forget, hey?

No ta. We need to make it very clear that you don't unsettle our players and get away with it.

I don't know why we are so morally outraged about Chelsea bidding for our player during the transfer window.

Clubs can bid, not saying that. We don't go to the papers leaking bids, getting our pals out to speak about how they shoudlnmove. If Barnsley said no, we would have walked away but behave like che!sea.we don't even know about our rejected bids as the club don't leak it

This sort of response is blinkered

Who was the last PL team charged and fined for tapping up a player?

there is nothing worse than the bus going past your house but you know you have to go back, clock off and then get back on the same bus when it is crowded. All makes sense now.

See, I find the faux outrage at a fan yelling at Stones quite amusing.

Fact of the matter is this - that is a guy who probably follows Everton everywhere, who has seen said player try to screw our entire season over with days left of a transfer window for personal greed.

He can shout whatever he wants as far as I'm concerned. Sure I find it distasteful and wouldn't have personally done it, but I can fully understand why he did.

Stones made his choice to abandon ship - some fans will react accordingly. Crocodile tears don't change a thing. John Stones has zero sympathy from me.

If you handed your notice in to move to a another firm for more money at the busiest time of year and your boss followed you home shouting abuse at you, that would be ok?

Giving someone abuse for putting his own interests above that of his employer is stupid, naive and hypocritical unless you can hand on heart say you would do the same.

Dunno pal, all this is screwing with my head. football eh, certainly helps the days go by. Just seems like one big blame game now. Players, board, agents, manager, press, fans.
