John Stones transfer saga

His emotions are probably all over the show at the moment, but there's a very strong character at the heart of all that.

Aye, and lets also not forget that's probably his first time back playing at Barnsley since he left them and their fans still love him. Normally even just that can be enough to mess with a players head let alone the whole circus Chelsea has been whipping up to unsettle him.

To those that think you can't be stressed, messed up and or depressed just because you're rich, have great looking career with the world at your feet miss the entire point of us having the Depression Thread. You can't buy mental clarity and everyone reacts differently when under all sorts on mounting pressures. Bobby will know when something is wrong as it's his job to know what makes each of the players tick to get the best out of them, and if he say publicly that the lad needs some support, an arm round his shoulder or space to think, then it should be a cue for everyone to back off a bit. Hopefully Jose (who should know better) and the press (who probably don't) respect this.

ok..so much for the truce then :)

lol we broke the site arguing I think!

It's a footy forum, not world peace, what a truce has to do with having different opinions I won't ever know, you're simply wrong (in my opinion as always not fact), and will debate that with you as the topic comes up! Nothing personal!

Football is all about opinions. We need to respect everyone's. Even yours which in this case is clearly wrong ;)

Not really any need for it, wouldn't do it myself, but given the media coverage and the fact that feelings are running very high I'm not going to get on my high horse about it.

We've all heard similar abuse at Goodison when someone's had a bad game, never mind stuck a transfer request in near the end of the window. Doesn't make it right, but lets keep it in perspective.
If he was sitting on the fence about staying or going, then it doesn't help to keep him here.

Personally I think it's easy to forgive him. He's 21 and irrespective of what agents etc have said he's had hundreds of so called experts in the media telling him that the best thing for his career is to move to Chelsea. All the tripe about learning from Terry (a man of undeniably questionable character) and needing to play champions league football. Add that to the obvious financial temptation and it's easy to see why his heads been turned.

I'm glad to have read in here that the vast majority of us feel the same. After all as soon as he puts on that blue shirt he's one of us.

Together we stand divided we fall an all that.

Look, we've been through this and you're clearly wrong. The Cahill dig was clearly a joke by the way sorry if it didn't come across that way, I know you're an old get :)
