Nah, he made a big boy business play and it is yet to be seen if it will turn out remotely how he was hoping. No need for pity and in fact it makes me sad that tears would be his reaction. It isn't over for him and in fact no matter what happens going forward he will likely have a life we all dream of with money, fame and glory

Christ I hate it when people wheel out 'well they've got a great life so you can't feel sympathy for them about anything'.

Weird humans that feel that way.

He's a young sound lad who's had to make very hard decisions while the entire national press and all his peers spend weeks talking about him, who has just put in a performance below his standards at his boyhood club in the most intensive week of the whole saga. Tough times for anyone, so give over.

He's a kid under enormous pressure. It's one thing to give him stick for his on-field performances--he's getting paid to be a professional--but off the pitch? Life's not easy for anyone, especially when you have massive decisions in front of you. I think you're being harsh.
