John Stones transfer saga

It won't be. Stones has another year left with us, two at the most. Chelsea's willingness to part with 40 million will be like a beacon to a lot of other big clubs. Let's not kid ourselves, we can make him stay because there's a few years left on his contract, he won't be signing any new ones.
maybe but if he does go there next season I think they may send him out on loan. I think it is easy to forget how young he is and how easily things could go wrong. Barca would at least protect him and think about what they might have in a few years time

Drop a world class no.10 into the forward 4 of rom, ross, deulofeu and mirallas an we'll be fine.
Reading between the lines a 21 year old kid has been badly advised and his head must be all over the place.
Most important thing is as a club we support him get him through this difficult time and continue moving forward so we can achieve our goals together.

After his comments tonight, which in fairness is a massive statement of intent going forward; if he is still sold now after those comments, you would have to believe that Martinez could resign. Listening to his comments and watching his facial expression tells you all you need to know about how Martinez views this whole saga. If he is still sold, it would obviously suggest that its been done behind his back. The domino effect this would create would be brutal. I truly hope those excellent words from Martinez tonight have have been spoken because everyone at Everton is 100% behind it.

thats exactly my thoughts too. but do you know what, it just wouldnt surprise me if he IS sold. would the board put the manager in that predicament tho? i guess were about to find out. the next week is going to be HUGE for Everton football club, the manager and the board.

I meant to say 2014 in the original post, but it worked out okay in the end.

Encouraging words from Martinez.

It sounds like he is going to sit Stones down and talk him out of his TR and try to convince him that is future is here. It could all depend on how that goes.

Even if he does end up going that statement tonight might have added another £5m to the price.

Interesting few days ahead.
