Blue Truth
Player Valuation: £25m
Well, maybe they feel they have made their statement? The player is not for sale?
Haven't heard them say he isn't for sale, only Martinez has said it. The board clearly have other ideas.

Yes & Martinez represents themHaven't heard them say he isn't for sale, only Martinez has said it. The board clearly have other ideas.
I am leaning to agreeing with you
A frustrating and upsetting few days are in store for all us Evertonians I fear
Arteta did mate. why else hand a request in at half 10 at night? Those determined to blame the board for John Stone's personal decisions will continue to do so, whether the request is accepted or rejected.
If they accept it, it was orchestrated all along. Because, y'know, why wouldn't the player want to needlessly turn himself into the bad guy and lose out on a loyalty bonus, just to help out Bill?
If they reject it, it was still orchestrated all along. This time, Stones becomes the bad guy just to make Bill look like a strong, heroic chairman.
Either way, it requires you to believe that Stones would pointlessly throw himself under the bus to help out the board.
In what way has martinez been backed?
In his first summer, he signed kone for 5, alcaraz free, robles nominal, del loan, and didnt sign anyone else until.......He sold Fellaini.
Second summer, lukaku- installments deal (fair enough), besic, couple of million, barry free, galloway youth, henan youth and then..................nothing else.
Third summer, cleverly free, delefeu 4 million (expensive loan deal potentially) holgate 1 million, and then...............nothing until we sell stones
We are doing the opposite of backing martinez mate, we are actually making very limited funds available unless he sells his spine of the team.
Nothing has changed from our side! Why do we need to say something?
"Everton release John Stones is still not for sale statement."
Great.
What a stupid response to someone telling it as it is. You make no sense whatsoever.
Or maybe there's another explanation. Stones wanted to go but didn't want to take it to this extreme. Those determined to blame the board for John Stone's personal decisions will continue to do so, whether the request is accepted or rejected.

Have you got any proof they didn't?
I think you're being a tad naive if you think the board telling Stones to put in a transfer request so they can cash in on him while deflecting some of the heat from themselves is beyond them
yes mate but we have a wage budget. That tells us how much wages a week we can offer a new player, or if we can actually sign someone. So any deals or new signings are taken into account. Wages and fee are completley different as we could have 100 million to spend and not be able to offer more than 10 grand a week spare. Obviously far more complicated than that but that is the simple way of looking at it.Right OK, do we not pay wages to these players? We also got McGeady which (understandably) everyone seems to forget. Also lets not forget that pretty much every major player we have have received new deals, these pay rises and new contracts dont come free either.
Quite simply we spend what we can. The transfer window isnt closed yet either!

Think of the timing. He could have handed a notice in back in july, wanting to move to the champions to replace the great john terry. PErsonally i dont blame him for wanting to go there, clearly going to win more with them than us.
But no request comes in, bids come and go, no request. then 1 WEEK before the deadline, when we still havent spent any money other than what we did on del he suddenly hands his request in? Either he thinks chelsea wont come back for him, OR, the club are desperate for chelsea to come back in because they have gambled on another bid and it hasnt came in time.
Said it last night mate, personally don't believe a word the club says regarding things like this, especially as we clearly have had no money to spend
Is there a particular reason you didn't just write "Lukaku - 28M"?In what way has martinez been backed?
