He never showed loyalty to Barnsley when we Bought him off them so I can't understand why people should expect him to show loyalty to us. Once a bigger club comes sniffing round one of your players and his head gets turned that club tend to get their own way. Our only trump card in a situation like that is to sign him up to a long-term contract and use it to squeeze as much money out of the buying club (in this case chelsea) as possible. Hence why I'm going to go against the grain and say that it's shrewd management been shown by kenwright and Martinez to ensure that the 5-year deal was in place.

I'll be sad to see him gone but I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.

Think if john get's sold just before deadline day so the money can't be invested (again) and our only signings are the river plate boy's, I can see this season being absolutely toxic. Only way for the board/club to come through this is to not sell him otherwise the managers position looks untenable and the board will be sitting through protests every week.

Mentioned it in the club shop shop last week, that as Stones had took the significant number 5 shirt, and being one of the best up and coming players at the club, why was there no images, shirts or mention of him in the entire shop?

If Everton Football Club pay 15 million for Johnny Evans and Aaron Lennon, 2 players who I dont think have even got a squad number at their current club, both with 1 year left on their contracts, then that will represent the worst business in the history of the football club (pound for pound)

And I don't want this Van Dijk as he is getting the run around by some Swedish pub team.

I agree mate 15 million for them two would be a terrible piece of business ( i wouldnt take either of them) but can you see Levy selling Lennon cheap now after seeing us copping 36m he will be rubbing his hands now as will anyone else we speak to for players.Its going to be panic buys all over the shop.

We all know where this is heading £36 from Chelsea ,5.4m to Barnsley 21 million to Chelsea for the balance of Lukaku money,7 million to spuds for Lennon ,8m for Johnny Evans, including Delboys 4 million a total spend of about 10 million leaves plenty of money left from sky money for the Kosher Nostra to have another nice dip in the trough.

One thing I wil say on the Stones saga, as a Chelsea fan I do want him and think he's a very talented lad but I think the price is way to much. Would you be happier if you got a player in the deal? Say Moses?
