John Stones transfer saga

I honestly think we would be stupid to sell. The lad has a long contract and is nailed on to become world class. There is no doubting that we have a golden generation here.

We have 3 players that could be world class within the next 1-2 years. Stones, Barkley, Lukaku. Another potentially in Deulofeu.

Some supporting top talent such as Mirallas, McCarthy, Baines, Coleman, Jags.

The foundations are here. They just need to grow together and it could all click.

3 additions like Martinez has stated and we could be nearly there.

If he signs someone like Yarmolenko it would be a real signal of intent to all the younger lads.

There's a world of difference between the media attempting to generate revenue with fictitious rumours and real transfer negotiations.

As I said we don't know how long McCarthy and Mirallas were in negotiations over improved contracts, and seeing as both players where entering the later stages of their previous deals it was inevitable we'd be trying to tie them down with new terms. Stones isn't in this position and we have a strong hand to play here. Like people have said there's no point clouding the situation at the moment, and it's doubtful Stones camp would welcome it either while the windows open and the club is turning down real bids.
They were in negotiations for a while and other clubs came in as there contracts were 2 years off KM was only 18 months off - Stones has just signed a 4 year deal!

True.

It is like me sitting here in my house.

I love this house and selling it is the last thing on my mind.

However, if someone knocked on my door this very afternoon and offered me way over the market value for the house.......well.....:)
Well what you may accept the offer and end up in a house with subsidence rising damp, and woodworm as you sold to quickly at the wrong market price!
Then you realised had been rushed into buying a replacement house that was rubbish!:(

He's not for sale...too many people feeling insecure about it due to what happened with Rooney. That was different scenario entirely, we were in an even worse financial state then now and he wanted to go

Nailed on - spot on says everything, our club would look so stupid now if they accepted 60 million for Stones its too late in the day to look for a world class centre back who is for sale!
Also as sonn as other clubs see what we got for him if we were foolish enough to sell at this late stage of the transfer market other clubs would inflate their prices we need cover in the centre back position anyway!
