John Stones transfer saga

I do not understand how the likes of the written media and talksport can't get it into their heads that the Lads value is only going one way and that's up, this window he could be 40+ that means to me next he could be 50+ especially with the new TV deal mean purchasers have more cash and potential selling club has less need for it.

Andy Gray just said he would be 'Amazed' if stones were still an Everton player once the window closed

Because his livelihood (sitting in a studio and chatting pap) is partly reliant on this big circus event having a dramatic ending and providing more pap for him to analyse like a bald, sunken Plato.

I also think Sky Sports etc. don't share the view that a more open contest i.e. other teams breaking the top-four dominance would be better for the premier league spectacle... they just adhere to what the biggest demographic of their viewership wants, majority of which are bratty Chelsea/RS/Man U fans.

So whilst they might not truly have a concerted agenda to 'sell' Stones for us (debatable)... I think that his sale would perpetuate the Top-4 monopoly and they don't see that as a bad thing. They make a lot of money by things staying in their 'natural order'.

What other domestic potentially world class English John Terry replacement is on the market?

They want the next decade sorted and see a potential Chelsea & England captain in my view; that would not be achieved via the likes of Varane who will mercenary out of the club like De Gea in a heartbeat a few years down the line.

Mourinho is 100% correct in targeting Stones, and he will continue to do so. His one mistake was trying to get him on the cheap - which is surprising, because if he'd have done his homework he'd have known the lad is very level-headed and would not rock the boat for the move right now.

And let's be clear - even if Stones does want the move, he'd have made noises through his agent by now if he wanted it urgently. I think he sees the bigger picture - Chelsea aren't an "A-grade" big club; I think he knows the proper giants of football will be in for him if he carries on.
It's pretty obvious he wants Varane or stones to pair with zouma for the future, most likely figured we'd be easier to get to sell than Real

"Not being for sale" to me just means Everton are not actively looking to sell him and Stones hasn't asked to be sold. Sadly, I don't think it means the same as 'he will not be sold no matter what so just sod off'.

True.

It is like me sitting here in my house.

I love this house and selling it is the last thing on my mind.

However, if someone knocked on my door this very afternoon and offered me way over the market value for the house.......well.....:)
