so a manager of another club says he doesn't want to sell and a player gets sold. to Real madrid?? all we can say is that if Real Madrid offer a 100 million then the board may accept. Stones still doesn't have to go.

Fair point mate. Personally, I think we are a bit. Well I am maybe, or perhaps romantic, about a football player and a football club not playing the "cash is king" game.
Everything I have heard is that he does not want to leave. He loves it here. He is settled domestically, has a long term girlfriend at Uni, and loves his life.
He knows he will be made for life come what may, financially, and perhaps, just perhaps, other things are more important than cash and stuff.
It was great for us, the beauts are currently 3 points behind us which is fine by me
i mean they do seem desperate but i think this is more to do with throwing their weight around and looking stupid than desperately wanting the player.forgetting todays result they are hardly a side falling apart at the back

Clubs always start low. They are now desperate, we can relax when man u and Chelsea bring in a defender, both waiting on stones. It's scary times.

Because the clubs weren't willing to pay what we want for them.
Baines would've went if United would've stumped up the cash.
But the point stands. Saying a player "isnt for sale" doesn't mean that. It means "How much do you REALLY want him for"
i know this is how we have started to see negotiations but looking back how often does that actually happen where there are constant back and forths. usually a club has done their homework and knows what it would take. or they are just trying to unsettle someone.
