John Stones transfer saga

He also said that he expects Chelsea to make a massive offer for him this week.

This isn't over, much as we wish it would go away.

But just how ace would it be for John and the club, (cos both have to agree really), to say "No" to a mega offer?

That young side, after seeing the Southampton game, must be a joy to play in. And we keep it together, add a few, christ, we could have a side on our hands there.

From what I here about the lad from people that know him money means absolutely nothing to the lad, he's already got enough to live the life he wants to until the day he dies with the contract he's on at Everton. It's not the club he dislikes it's the city lifestyle and the pace of life, he lives in a village over looking the Moors he walks his dogs every day on the old Pennine trail he's happy with life he's got everything he could wish for

One day Lukaku apologises to a lady in the crowd for a wayward practice shot now this ffs......

Superb is the answer, especially after all this.

But the media talk and the possibility of receiving a further bid remain while the window is open. Just hope the board stand firm.

The funny thing is its our own fans that are just as guilty as the media for keeping this going.

Like now nothing new in the press but the bedwetters are out in force because Mourinho tactically subbed Terry off for Zouma. All this despite the manager putting his head on the line saying Stones ain't for sale and the lad looking happy here. It's hilarious.

I'd say its everything to do with credibility.

He's said repeatedly we are not a selling club and Stones isn't for sale.

He's going to look like a massive liar and fool if we sell him now, and his credibility amongst Everton fans will be gone for good.

No he won't, he'll be someone who's playing the game of modern football.

From what I've read and heard, Stones' agent is the one saying Stones is open to the move, which is why Chelsea keep coming back.

They slap £35-40million on the table, everyone shakes hands, and he's gone.

It's all a game.

Snoop on Everton forum saying he was told that if someone offers 35 mill plus add ons he'll be gone. Apparently from a reliable source.

Today's result has not helped this situation at all. Bobby saying he's not for sale, and board selling him would spell trouble for me. Negative impact on rest of squad quite possible, with Bobby left with no time to get in proper quality replacements, clubs knowing we have that money in bank too driving up prices etc. Worrying

He'll have players lined up.

The problem will be the price he pays for them knowing we've got x amount from the deal

seriously i have forgotten the Chelsea bid even happened now it seems so unlikely. started to picture an episode of Last Of the summer wine in forty years time with Stones, Barkley and Lukaku wandering aimlessly across the moors grumbling about how the game isnt the same as when they won the league with the blues

The 'game of modern football' is to not look so foolish.

If there was a chance of Stones going he wouldn't be so strong in what he's said. He'd give wishy washy answers, about how you don't know where the market will go etc.

Martinez repeatedly saying Stones is not for sale, and not only that, but that we want to keep all our young players and build around them does not sound like someone 'playing a game' and 'holding out for loads of money'. He genuinely intends to keep him, and apparently has direction from the board to act like this.
