Thanks for contacting us about Match of the Day, broadcast on 8th August 2015.
We understand you were unhappy with comments made by the studio pundits during a discussion about Everton player John Stones.
Commentators and pundits only call the game as they see it and football is a game of opinions. It's in the nature of commentating and punditry that contributors are expected to provide their personal view on the action and events surrounding the matches they are watching. All we can expect of them is a fair assessment based on their own knowledge and experience. We do employ a range of contributors to provide as wide a range of views as we can, helping to interpret and cover any given match or result.
We’re sorry on this occasion you feel the comments were wrong and we certainly hope you continue to enjoy the programme in the future.
Thank you again for contacting us, we value your feedback about Match of the Day. All complaints are sent to senior management and programme makers every morning and we included your points in this overnight report. Highlighted the bit in bold. What has Shearer and the others encouraging Stones to go to Chelsea got to do with the highlights of the game.
If Chelsea bid £100m and Everton accepted, then they can discuss his situation, not for the laughable half of David Luiz fee they can't!!!
