Should of just came in at weight and took the money. Not sure what they were playin at, am sure in was games coming in overweight. Cost him about £45k.
 

Looking at the bigger picture though, why is the worlds best SMW damanding a catchweight against a Euro Level oppo? These catch weight fights need to stop. Thats at least 3 at world level in 2 weeks. They're especially taking the piss when title fights are fought at catch weights.

Total BS, boxers needs to start having lengthy suspensions because of it.
 

The fight got offered to Rocky Fielding before Smith. For Smith at that stage of his career it was too good to turn down (Economically). I think he'll have one last big day day at the Echo Arena against Fielding then call it quits.

Happy he got beat, everytime I've seen him out and about he's acted like a massive bellend. His 3 brothers on the other hand are all decent lads.
 
Disappointed with the Porter fight, cant see Broner ever making it at 140 or above, he almost got out of jail in the 12th, glad he didn't.

Pretty farcical and embarrassing weekend for Paul Smith.
 
why would smith create so many problems for himself?? i dont understand how in this day and age a fighter can even be a pound over let alone 8 pounds over(morning of the weigh in). this was a real opportunity, i know the odds of him winning were very slim. BUT ward has been inactive for 19 months, and smith had given abraham 2 good fights. his own confidence must of been pretty good, if he had made weight and trained properly then he would of had an outside chance. as it was he was overweight and sluggish and just stood in front of ward with his hands up, slowly getting pulled apart. it wasnt even as hard as a sparring session for ward.

all points too smith just getting paid off to go over for ward and give him some rounds. esp the way the towel got thrown in at the end.

smith, hearn and gallagher should be ashamed. imagine if you had travelled over to watch THAT!

as for broner, his chances are well and truly numbered now. quite like porter but dont think he would beat thurman or kell brook. (he said about a rematch after the broner fight)

Katie Taylor got lucky today, very nearly was beaten by her opponent ,behind after three rounds,level after the last round,won it on aggression and even then the judges were split.
