8mil is not too much for us, not at the moment.

All prem teams are flush with TV money, hence the level of spending we are seeing.

8mil is nothing to a prem team this summer, especially when you consider our outlay so far.

We need a quality defender, if stones or jags broke a leg.....we'd be in big trouble.

I actually quite like it strangely, the only local lad even close to their first team these days is Flanaggon, we have loads and might have one of theirs as well, could be fun, where's your scoucers gone!
I think it will help us in the derbies. As much as I didn't rate Gerrard in his final year. Losing him from the dressing room is going to be huge.

We might actually win one.

Mirallas is going, it's obvious, so we will have money, end of problem.

Nobody on here knows what money we have too. Suggesting that's the budget blown is just silly.
If Mirallas goes we will buy a replacement. Doesn't change much.

But I believe there's plenty still in the pot. It's looking like this might be the year we make a real push.

Kenwright might not have much longer. I don't feel like some of you and it would be great if he saw some success.

At the risk of veering off topic, I think a lot of people here may be underestimating Dann.

There was a period a few years back when he was at Brum when he looked really good. Next to Roger Johnson (I know), he looked solid but also really comfortable on the ball - I distinctly remember them coming to Goodison a couple of times that season and me remarking to my mate that they were a great partnership, Dann was almost Carvalho-esque. I would imagine it's that aspect of his game that Martinez has been attracted to (hence the links with Jonny Evans too). Admittedly he had a bad time of it at Blackburn (sinking ship though really), but he's done well at Palace.

In the context of what Everton spend on transfers £8m sounds like too much for me for a player who won't be a first choice, but his age is about right to allow Galloway to mature a bit and I think he has the necessary qualities to play in the role that Martinez likes his defenders to play. Providing the money spent doesn't stop us from getting our other targets in (a number 10, a replacement for Mirallas if he leaves and, in an ideal world, another striker), I'm perfectly happy with Dann.

If people don't see Dann is being brought in as Stones replacement either this or next season, then they are in dreamland.
