Everton close on Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto, he’s accepted transfer

Everton are reportedly closing in on the signing of Sergi Roberto with the Barcelona star keen on moving to Goodison Park.

Roberto, 23, wants to leave the Nou Camp at the end of the season, having seen first-team opportunities become limited.

Tottenham and Stoke have been linked with moves, but reports in Spain say Everton are set to begin negotiations to sign the midfielder, who has accepted the transfer.

I refuse to get excited about reading anything in the Metro. It's by far the jargest "national"
At the moment I'd say we're "interested" so it makes it vaguely credible rather than get the kleenex out.

i wouldn't have deeney on the list tbh. i think that's pure newspaper speculation i doubt we'd be in for him even if he was only £3m, plus why would watford sell their captain just after promotion?

Wouldn't disagree with your analysis at all, especially as it's not a priority position for Martinez.
I think it's just paper talk, but it has been mentioned so I've been beaten by my own guidelines here.

Personally I'd just ban anyone for a few months who, without being obviously tongue in cheek, quoted the Metro as a source but that's probably a bit draconian.
