Naismith 3 year extention

Wondering with all this potential incoming talent about to arrive at Goodison soon, where does it leave the Scottish Messi, Mr Steven John Naismith?
Couldn't get a game towards the end of the past season, even prior to all the expectant incoming guns this Summer.

Done at Everton? Squad filler?

His biggest fan ]@deipnosophist must be emotional right about now.[/B]

...emotional?...I'm a blubbering wreck, devastated. Only the near tragic denouement of ASS comes anywhere close to the sadness and existential angst I presently feel. But as the great poet Robert Browning said : "a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what heaven's for".

I agree. But do you think our Manager will? There at least 5 that come to mind I would get rid of this Summer.
The perennial problem will materialise - how do you replace them or do you bring in the yoof? Every year we need to add "a couple of big names", but every year we lose a couple as well that need replacing, so the squad never actually gets the overhaul it needs. Will always be the case under this ownership. That's why every year it's a case of so near yet so far.

Apart from the season just ended like.

I am hoping that this Summer is like El Chico's first. A couple of permanent signings and 3 quality loans. Hopefully the 3 loans all produce like then.
Problem solved in one hit...

Can he try to referee games for us next season, please?

O’Neill fired a broadside at the Italian referee, Nicola Rizzoli, who had been praised by the Scotland manager, Gordon Strachan. “I am not surprised at that,” O’Neill said. “I am not surprised Gordon thought that. Naismith refereed the game for most of it so I am sure he did but that wouldn’t have been the view in our dressing room.”

I've got right off the tit after what I witnessed yesterday. Particularly his getting involved in finger pointing and shoving after the Scott Brown assault on Robbie Brady for which the referee gave, erm, yes, a throw-in to Scotland. He's a mouthy git. Sell and replace asap Bob. We'll make a profit on him anyway so who's arsed.

He wound us up good and proper yesterday. It's a pity we didn't have a strong enough character to stand up to him and box clever. He may not be the best footballer ever but he leaves everything on the pitch and I like that.plus he got a fair few goals last season and was one of the few to emerge with any credit fro first part of last season anyways

To be honest that endeared him to me! Our players are usually too nice. We need more players like Naisy!

I was personally hoping for Rangers to get promoted so that he could have an emotional return to the club.

Now they're in the first division, gah, I don't know. Who'd be soft enough to take him? To be honest, I think he could do a decent job for a mid-to-good Championship side. He has that toughness and determination to be a success in that league.. you just need added quality to make the step up, and he doesn't possess it.

Would love to see him more on for a million or two. What does anybody reckon the max is we could get? 3/4m?

Id say £6m or £7m personally when considering how much other players are going for. Would rather keep him tho, one of our outstanding performers at the beginning of the season...in fact the only one for a while
